Fatty's Banquet
Added 2025-02-21 14:25:22 +0000 UTCI always find that adding the colour and shadow to an illustration really makes the scene come to life, so much so that it inspired me to write a Short Story to go with this one. Eating as a form of social convention, eating as a form of comfort and eating due to a lack of self restraint are all themes I see here, and so I thought I should, erm, expand on them further - as well as add some background to the characters and a little lore!
This scene captures a perfect moment in time; it's a tipping point, a knife edge. There is something incredibly magical in seeing a girl that has gorged and glutted herself to the very point that she can barely cope with any more - reduced to a slow, lumbering waddle, each step painstakingly anticipated and exhuastingly executed. Kaitlyn knows she has to stop, and soon, and yet in the same breathless sentence she can't help but question if there's a way to have just a little more. Both our protagonist and her extremely enthusiastic waitress seem to think they can arrange something...
