Welcome to the new month everybody.
I'm still not in a great place mentally, but I do have responsibilities to you guys and working keeps my mind occupied, so here goes.
First, almost a full week late, last sketch suggestion winner. Grats to AntiCarrot, knower of things, for suggesting this one. I' fairly sure he had something slightly different in mind, but such are the joys of living under the tyranny of an art lord - they put their own spin on things 9w9
Then we have this month's doodle for Danknificent, because those are going to be becoming a thing. It's still an experiment for now, but as it stands and looking around the market, I think I can feel safe in offering a personal sketchydoodlething to the "Bells and Whistles" Tier. I don't expect to have to limit the Tier, as was suggested by several of you, but we'll see about that in the future.
Next we finally have some progress on a commission I took on way early in the year. Some definition work on this dance scene between father and daughter. The specifics are to be collected from the commission at time of publication, but there's likely to be a bit of a while before that comes around, as they are very particular about this piece of artwork - not in a bad way, mind you :3
Following that, something a little more surreal - sort of. I'd uploaded this to the discord on the night it came together, butI forget when that was. Some time last week. Anyway, I was dealing with my situation by distracting myself with art and music, and I happened to remember a very old bit of melody from my childhood (though it was recorded long before then) by Isao Tomita, an arrangement of Mussorgsky's Great Gate Of Kiew : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIPRYJOwDoQ :
This then turned out to become inspiration for this ... thing ... wordless short. It's 40k in theme, but really it's only a representation of the feel the music evokes in me. Think of it what you will.
Finally, my badger girl Keira has been considering arming herself again. She's not inexperienced in firearms, given where she spent the last decade, but she decided that she didn't feel like carrying that over into her new life on the Horizon. Recent events have lead her to be somewhat weary of both, her compatriots aboard ship, as well as situations that they frequently seem to be finding themselves in because of said compatriots, where having some stopping power that goes beyond your arms reach would be beneficial.
Anyway, to my knowledge the actual functioning of most weapons in universe is not explained in detail, but I do know that most projectile weapons apparently self-assemble their product, at least that's the feel I get from how reload mechanics in the game function, so using that knowledge as a basis, I designed this rotary barrel hand cannon. The idea for the rotation is to avoid having whatever projectile is fired interfeer with the assembly process, or require some form of complex breech mechanism. There's probably more elegant solutions, but - whatever, rule-of-cool.
Anyway, that's what I have to start the month off with. More art as it becomes available :3
