Luca deliberately pushes her away, and the manipulation our nervous little Tecktrin did has thrown the security team off-course. While Trinity supposedly offers to help Ms Shepard, she instead starts secretly messaging Luca. Then the twins lose sight of Simon, Leon, and Luca. It's a BAD day for Ms Shepard, and not one I imagine she's going to forget...
Writing out this scene was super fun. Ms Shepard is, no contest, the most menacing opponent Leon's had to contend with so far. She kept him on his toes! But now everything's fallen apart of her plans...
I can't recall if I've mentioned it before, but the alpha draft of this chapter didn't even have Simon arriving until... well, NEXT chapter, or maybe even just the tail-end of this one. Suffice to say, I'm way happier with the direction I went here. So far, each chapter has primarily focused on developing maybe one or two characters - C1 on Trinity, C2 with Luca - as well as how they bounce off of Leon. This chapter I like to consider a duel focus on Ms Shepard (plus her relationship with her sister) and Simon.
Trinity also wasn't really going to be around, but this segment was going to be CLUTCH for establishing the dynamic between the twins, and this also serves to give us a sense of how prepped for action Simon is.
We're nearing the end, but there's still a few surprises in store...
