Progress report (12/21/24) (Demo)
Added 2024-12-21 08:10:43 +0000 UTCAlright, hi everyone! I just finished another college semester and I’m super happy it’s finally over. This gave me a lot more time to focus on development. I wanted to start by saying that I scrapped all the old game concepts you may have seen here before, simply because they weren’t fun to play or develop—all the enemies felt too one-sided and one-dimensional.
That’s why I completely changed the game structure. I’m calling this new project Corrupt Descent, which is a twist on those lethal company-style games where you explore a dungeon and try to survive enemies along the way. You’ll descend via an elevator into a randomly generated underground environment. The goal is to gather loot and bring it back to your lift, where you can convert it into money to spend at the shop. There will be a variety of temptation traps and unique enemies to avoid. My plan is that the deeper you descend, the tougher the enemies become—but the loot also becomes more valuable.
Check out the sneak peek demo attached to this post and let me know what you think in the comments!
Disclaimer
This is a very early build, so there are likely a bunch of bugs.
No temptation traps are in this build yet.
There are two enemies you can encounter, and they currently spawn randomly.
If you reach 0 health, enemies might break because I’m planning to add unique end scenes for each enemy.
The shop currently does nothing.
The dungeon only has a few assets and room designs right now—expect more elaborate dungeons later.
alt f4 to close the game no menus exist
Controls / Game play
E – General interaction / Pick up items
G – Drop items
Left Click – Interact with the tablet on the lift

You can bring gas cans to the barrel to fill up the fuel.
Bring loot to the grinder and toss it in for money.
I left a flashlight, a gas can, and a shotgun for testing out killing the enemies.
Please let me know if you find any bugs by commenting on this post—it really helps me out!

2024-12-21 21:48:26 +0000 UTCI just run it on my steam deck to check it, except the screen terminal which need a keyboard, it run well and control are easy. It's a good proof of concept. As for bug, I guess it's a very early access state lol
