PRICING FOR SUCCESS.

Hey Katie, I'm in NZ and my prices are in the thousands and so was Lusting Lovers. I did a shoot with her and happily paid what she was priced at.

What caliber of clients did you see change, if at all, when you raised your prices? Did you see a drop off of bookings or what other measurements did you use to test if it was successful or not? I honestly cannot fathom having prices in the thousands, but I think that's because NZers are cheap and don't think that they should do something like this.

Some choose to print the not-as-edited ones in the albums they get with me. It still looks like my art it's just not AS polished as my hand-retouched ones! The tones are largely the same and they still get run through portraiture so they are still smoothed - just not with as much detail. I have a mantra that these photos aren't for me - they are my clients. And if they're happy, I'm happy! I may adjust these packages more in the future but for right now it seems to be working :)

Thank you for being so transparent about all of this, it is SO helpful coming from someone who is still relatively new (started a year ago)! I have a question about the "negatives". I love the idea, but are you worried that if your clients share or print those that they won't be truly reflective of your art (i.e. your hand-retouched images)? Do you include anything in your contract about the use of those images in the full gallery of negatives? Are they delivered via pic-time or USB or something else?
