Music for Morningstar: Book of the Fallen

I obviously love trying to find the perfect music for my games, and for Love of Magic one composer stood out as providing 2/3 of the tracks. Alexander Nakarade's been making absolutely awesome music tracks that are free for use in games and videos (CCBY4.0, basically free to use as long as you mention who made them, and the license). I've been a Patreon of his for years, and every couple of days give another cool track.

For Love of Magic I used his songs for a number of the key themes (including Emily, Chloe, Bella), as well as a lot of ambient and special events tracks.

For Morningstar I decided to do something I've never tried before, and commissioned some songs from him; the first few drafts have already arrived, and it's sounding awesome.

The goal is to create not just a theme-music, but a set of 3 different themes for Katie, all variations of the same song (one rock version, one epic metal version, one romantic and erotic version). I'm super curious how he'll manage to weave the three of them together, but I have faith.

The big reason for this, of course, is that it celebrates the entry of Katie as a primary LI (she and Emily will have to fight it out for the lead role this time).

There's a couple of reasons for this. She's been jockeying for a larger role in Morningstar more or less from the moment you see her, effortlessly mixing funny, sexy and awesome moments together.   At this point there is far more Katie content than there is Emily content.

Another part is Emily herself; the way she is writing herself in Morningstar is a little more remote... the player's going to have to work hard just to get to handholding, and I think pushing for a full Harem ending would be a quick way to discover how Sodom and Gomorrah happened.

Finally... I felt bad about how I treated her in Love of Magic. I loved her, but she gets the short end of the stick a number of times, compared to Emily or the Chosen. I decided to give her the story she deserves in Morningstar.

So... I'll share the music pieces as they come in, but personally I'm super excited.
