Love of Magic's finally approved for Steam. I'm myself primarily a Steam gamer, so that's a fun milestone to hit. What does that mean for the current platforms, patreon, or those of you who discovered the game in the 'wild'?
Absolutely nothing. The game will be 100% free on Steam, and will continue to be released like now on itch.io, gamejolt.com and I'll continue to manage and participate in my thread on F95zone. So nothing changes, in that respect. This is more of an experiment, inspired by "Doki Doki Literature Club!", in seeing if a free game on Steam can be used as a marketing aid.
I've also registered loveofmagic.net; it's kinda sparse at the moment, but it opens up some opportunities. I'll likely link in the builds from there, maybe expand it to have the same kind of content I put up on other storefronts.
First scene of Act IV came out yesterday; it's got a bunch of ground-work added, and a pretty long scene (which I'm now fixing for typos). :) It's a long chapter, though, so the next release will take a couple of weeks. The Goal is for Act V (and so Book 1) to be ready in time for Summer Solstice.
Finally, I've got ~100 beta keys for the Steam release. I'm building a system to hand it out to anyone here who wants one, but in the meanwhile if you're curious just ping me on PM, and I'll send you a code manually. One nice thing about Steam is that I can open up a Beta track, and anyone subscribed to that can get latest, which might be interesting for anyone looking to play the latest without using Discord.
