Commenting pretty late on this one (been far too busy this last month or so!) so I'll keep it short. But, this episode is one where I could on paper list quite a lot of problems with it, but, still, if pushed to give an opinion, still kind of love. Even without having played the VN, it's quite clear that the adaptation of Faris's arc is a bit... wonky, let's say. That said, there's only so many episodes of such a length that are given for an adaptation, so, it is what it is, and in the circumstances, they stick the landing. If I'm honest, I'd forgotten about those dudes that chased them throughout the episode until I saw it in the reaction, but, I remembered how the conclusion to that world line made me feel, so I guess to that extent, that's what really matters

They’re an artifact of a recurring joke in the visual novel that didn’t make it into the adaptation. I’d say if your concern was wasted time, you’d be relieved to know what was cut😂 Faris as a character also suffers slightly from the adaptation a bit in my opinion. having been considerably stripped down compared to the source material. That’s partly why she feels inexplicably absent from the show. However, I think the anime does a good job keeping her involved and her story impactful. It’s a shame to leave parts of her unexplored but I think it was the right call for the show overall.
