So the anime doesn't make this too clear, especially the subs, but in Yiggdrasle there were 200 TOTAL World Items, and only 20 of that 200 were considered the most powerful, which is what Ains was talking about last episode when he said they had 1 of the 20. The 20 were so broken, one of them literally allowed the user to demand a Game Devs change a fundamental mechanic of the game's Magic System. Bonus Fact - The Guild of Ains Oole Gown had the most collected number of World Items in the entire game, at 12 of them. The next highest had only 3. Also that Red Orb in Ains' chest is also a World Item.

2025-04-12 00:21:52 +0000 UTCa quick explaination of the end part because its never explained in the anime: Ains used the skills [Widen Magic: Cry of the Banshee] which is an instant kill skill with a bigger range than normal due to the Widen Magic addition, however, shalltear has instant death immunity, so before that, he cast [The Goal Of All Life Is Death] which allows any paired skill to bypass instant death immunity, at the cost of delaying the cast time to 12 seconds, the clock behind him would start the countdown, and after a full revolution, the magic will activate, shalltear died there, but was revived by the ressurection item.
