I don't remember things beeing that messy when I watched it back a year ago or so xD I really think those who wrote the Anime canon part wanted to fit in every character that we know into one episode and that makes things feel a bit much and not as thoughtfully crafted like the manga canon parts seem. Not saying that I don't enjoy it but it really feels a bit much with all the different characters having their own intentions and goals mostly. But as far as I can remember we will now proceed into one of the favorite parts of that show for me. But I really liked the whole ending stretch of the series :D
