I'm back! Artist Retreat Update! 🇫🇷🎨

Hi Patrons! 🎨

I’m back from the artist retreat in France! 🇫🇷 I’ve recorded a lot of footage from the retreat so I will be making a video about it soon! 

However, I want to share some of the things now! This is going to be quite a long post so I apologize in advance haha! I had the pleasure of staying at La Muse with my friend, Kate (poopikat) 🥰

I had such an amazing time at the retreat! I felt like I was living in a fairytale. ⛰️🧺

Being surrounded by nature and other creatives for the past week had me feeling so inspired! 🎨

I wanted to share some of the photos with you all and some of the artworks I’ve done!

Here’s what the view looked like where we stayed! There were a lot of cats who would come to visit! It reminded me of the movie, The Cat Returns! 🐈🐈😅

The retreat was located in a beautiful small town, so it was very serene! 🌼 Every Thursday, there would be a butcher that would come to town so we were able to grab some food! 

What I loved about the retreat are the dinners and lunches! Everyone was cooking and preparing food for each other so it was always a feast! Kate and I made brunch and made sure to bring out maple syrup haha 🇨🇦🥹

I tried plein-air watercolour for the first time and oh boy, it was challenging but it was so much fun! I need to use the medium more so I can get used to it! One of the residents from the retreat is a musician and she also draws in her spare time so she was drawing portraits of everyone in the retreat! 

It was really inspiring to hear everyone’s stories! 🥹🥹💕

I had an amazing time working and painting here with Kate! She’s inspired me and we’ve both been teaching other different art methods, talking about art, etc.🥹💕

Here’s some of the artwork I made:

The first two images are drawn on the spot of the location! I’m more comfortable drawing nature scenes than indoors haha but I learned a lot from painting indoor scenes so I definitely want to do it again! The third image is a quick painting of the cats that would visit the retreat! I might revisit it in the future! 🐈
