Practice with Dragons
Added 2016-04-28 21:40:18 +0000 UTCThis week I've been sick a lot lately so I haven't been able to take commissions like I regularly do. I decided to do a few more adoptables. When I work with adoptables I try to pick species that I'm usually not comfortable drawing. It's a great way to push yourself into learning new material.
I rarely draw dragons, to be honest they've always intimidated me. When I first created a profile on FA, I was hanging out with a bunch of my new furry friends. One of which was a dragon. He was a bit of an art snob and would always scoff at people's work. I remember asking him what was wrong with a piece and he clearly stated that anyone who drew foxes and dogs well could never draw a dragon well. "It just wasn't possible." That stuck with me for a long time. Today I don't believe his theory. Anyone can draw any subject. It all comes down to practice.
