This is all you need to know about arms!

Everyone who supports FanBox!

Sorry for the long delay in updating...

I was so busy with book deadlines and event preparations that I wasn't able to update. .

The preparation of the book is finally settling in, and the reservation will start soon!

We will announce it again, so please look forward to it! (This is going to be a really good book!)

Also, we plan to return to the frequency of FanBox updates, so please continue to support us!

The course starts here!

I've been making clothing creases and shoe courses for a while now...

I don't know how to draw arms and legs to put them on before that!

I have received a lot of comments from people saying...

... It is true that we had not made a course!

So this time, we have compiled a list of tips on how to draw arms!

Table of Contents

1.At the beginning

2.Be aware of the silhouette of the arm

3. Know the shape of the bones

4. Know the shape of the muscles

5. Application: Let's draw a macho figure!

6. At the end

1. In the beginning

I've seen a few comments on DMs and videos that say "I know how to draw wrinkles, but I can't draw arms first...".

"The range of motion of the elbow is... or "The attachment point of the extensor carpi radialis longus muscle is...

I won't go into any difficult topics!

I will use the names of the major musculoskeletal structures, but I think that further information would be confusing, so I have created this lecture on how to draw the arm with a "rough" explanation.

If you want to study anatomy but feel that it is too difficult, I hope you will use this lecture as a gateway to learning!

2. Be aware of the silhouette of your arms

First of all, let's start by thinking about what we can see, not what is inside, such as muscles and bones!

When you look at the silhouette, you can sort of see the gentle undulations that follow the shape of the muscles...

When you first become aware of these three bulges, you may find it easier to understand the shape of your arms!

Note that this is just an image, so if you draw the circle as it is, it will look fake!

To create a feminine impression, you can make the undulations more gradual!

(Reducing the lines of the muscles will also make it look more feminine!)

3. Know the shape of the bones

Knowing where the bones are located may help you draw the pose more freely!

Let's take a quick look at just the main bones!

The main skeletons of the arms are

Bone of the upper arm (humerus)

Forearm bones (radius and ulna)

You don't have to remember the names, but you just need to know that the upper arm and forearm have different bones! It is OK if you can understand that the upper arm and forearm contain different bones!

The advantage of memorizing the shapes of the bones is that it will help you understand the shapes of the muscles and their movements, which will be explained later.

(I won't cover movement in this lecture, as that would be too technical!)

Also, there are certain parts of the bones that can be seen protruding from the skin!

For example, the wrists.

It is also important to find such places in order to improve your drawing, so you may want to look for them by observing your own body, or by acquaintances, or by looking at photo albums!

4. Know the shape of the muscles

The main muscles of the arms are

Shoulder muscles (deltoid)

Upper arm muscles (biceps and triceps)

Forearm muscles (extensor carpi radialis longus and flexor digitorum brevis)

When the arm is extended, there will be a concave area on the elbow near the forearm muscles.

It's a small detail, but it would be cool to be able to draw lines in these areas!

The same goes for low muscle mass!

Less muscle mass does not mean you lose it, so the location of the muscle does not change!

I recommend knowing the shape of the muscles, even roughly, so that it will be easier to draw skinny, normal, macho, etc.✨

5. Application: Let's draw a macho figure!

Here is the application part!

I think many people find it difficult to draw a macho figure...

But if you've made it this far, you'll be fine!

Because all you have to do is to draw the muscles you have just learned about one size larger!

The area around the wrist is hard to draw muscles, so we will not change most of the muscles, but will make the main muscles bigger!

The dimples on the elbows are no different 🤔.

It is difficult to draw a macho figure from scratch, but by following the steps in this lecture, I was able to draw it with relative ease, even if it is a rough outline!

6. Finally

How was it?

I think many people are reluctant to study anatomy because of its stiff image, but just by putting a little bit of anatomy into your head, you can make your drawings more convincing!

If you are too lazy to learn the basics 😭, I recommend that you start by studying "roughly" as much as you can understand, using this course as a reference!

If you study too hard from the beginning, you may get tired, so it's better to start with the part you want to draw!

I hope everyone can feel that feeling of being able to draw the parts you couldn't draw before...!

That's all for this lecture!

Look forward to the next lesson ✨!
