If you are an existing AI Chat user, download the latest version from vamX.AI_Chat_Only_1.45.var (or from Mega).

If you are a first time user, you must follow the SETUP INSTRUCTIONS below.

This Add-On Package allows you to use the AI Chat WITHOUT vamX.

This plugin includes all AI Chat features EXCEPT VAMX ACTIONS. If you want the AI to act in response to the conversation by changing clothes, dancing, switching sex positions, etc., you must use vamX.

You can take any existing scene and add the Chat AI (to one person only), without adding the rest of vamX (to leave an existing scene exactly how it was, except for the addition of the Chat AI).

This plugin is only for use in scenes without vamX.

In addition to speaking AI Chat responses, if this is used on a female, she will change her facial expressions based on the conversation. To disable facial expression changes, open the plugin CHOOSE_VAMX_FEATURES -> Open Custom UI... and disable (uncheck) CanSet_FacialExpressions.

SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

1) If you don't have Virt-a-Mate preferences configured to "Allow All Sites" follow the WEB SITE ACCESS REQUIRED section at https://sxvr.com/ai#allow

2) Download vamX.AI_Chat_Only_1.45.var (or from Mega) for Virt-a-Mate 1.22.
There are no dependencies (not even the vamX Base).

3) Put the vamX.AI_Chat_Only_1.45.var package in your AddonPackages folder. Open or Restart Virt-a-Mate (or go to Package Manager -> Rescan Packages). If you haven't restarted Virt-a-Mate after allowing new sites from step 1, restart Virt-a-Mate.

4) If you haven't used vamX AI Chat before, start by opening the Separate Chat AI Plugin Demo scene. This scene includes getting started instructions, as well as the ability to quickly test the plugin.

5) Enter your AI Chat password (you can write or speak the password). Find your password in the welcome notes at: www.patreon.com/vamx/membership

6) To speak hold the right mouse button down (Desktop Mode). In VR hold the VR controller's trigger button to talk.

ADDING AI CHAT TO A SCENE

To add AI Chat to any scene, open any (non-vamX) scene, then add the plugin to the person Atom that you want to chat with. If there is only one person in the Scene, you can add the plugin to any atom.

To Add the Plugin, Use the Virt-a-Mate Menu:

Check the Edit Mode box, then press Cycle Select Person (icon of two people) until the person you want is selected (which shows their properties, including the Plugins tab).
Press the person's Plugins tab -> Add Plugin -> Select File (if there are multiple plugins press the bottom Select File button).
In Select File, find and press the vamX_AI_Chat_Only_1.45 by scrolling down in the left section of Select File. Once you choose vamX_AI_Chat_Only_1.45, then on the right you'll see vamX Chat AI Only.cslist. Press "vamX Chat AI Only.cstlist" to add the plugin.
You can now press Open Custom UI... next to AI_CHAT_SERVER_AND_PERSONALITY_SET to:
Change the Chat voice volume, choose a personality set, change between US and EU servers, or reconnect to the server. If you don't see the Web UI appear, or you want to move it, use the Cycle Web UI Location, Cycle Web UI Distance, or Select Web UI buttons.
There is now improved compatibility with VaM Moan and Life (which take over the head audio) but if the AI Chat audio gets cut off, or only some sentences play, there is also a button to disable VaM Moan/Life in the Custom UI.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Does the audio get cut off in the middle of playing? If so, there may be other plugins playing head audio for the same atom. In VaM each person can only make one sound at a time (head audio). You can manually turn those plugins off, or disable them using this plugins AI_CHAT_SERVER_AND_PERSONALITY_SET -> Open Custom UI...

Can't find the Web UI (AI Chat Window)? It's invisible from behind. After adding the plugin, in Person Plugins, press Open Custom UI... next to AI_CHAT_SERVER_AND_PERSONALITY_SET then use the new Cycle Web UI Location, Cycle Web UI Distance, or Select Web UI buttons to move the Web UI into place.

Change the volume of the AI Chat speech.

Automatic Reconnection
The server now automatically reconnects if the audio connection is lost. In the past if your Internet connection was slightly unstable you could lose speech connection to the server (she wouldn't speak, and couldn't hear you speak).

Quicker Voice Recognition (speech recognition)
This makes the overall AI response speed faster when you are talking to the AI (using your voice). The new (Deepgram) voice recognition is more accurate and quicker (than Whisper) although it still isn't perfect. If you say something and are misunderstood, press Edit Last, then try speaking (clearly) again (or get a better microphone). If what the AI says shows up also as if it was something you said, then your microphone can hear your headset speaker and you need to turn down either your speakers or your microphone sensitivity.

Added new Improved Quick Voices
To use these you need to switch to them in the voice drop down. These have better voice quality than the Quick Voices but are much faster than the Improved voices. These voices work in English only, but when used can speed things up dramatically (compared with using Improved Voices, or other non-quick voices).

Added new Quick Speech for Quick Voices option to split the text into optimal chunks for the new Improved Quick Voices. These voices prefer to broken down into larger chunks, and generate even a moderate amount of text in a fraction of a second.

Added Quick Speech (Don't Split) and Very Quick Speech (Don't Split). These help improve audio quality of voices by letting the voice generate the entire sentence / paragraph at once. This takes longer (for the audio to be generated) but can result in slightly higher quality audio for most voices. Very Quick Speech is the same as Quick Speech, but instructs the language model to generate a shorter reply.

Added X 3 personality (from the video demo) to the main personalities list.

Added the new Many Slow Unreliable Models item when choosing a NSFW model. This is a library of over 100 language models, most of them 70B (large). These models generally have a 10-15 second delay before each response starts, and if the wait is > 15 seconds vamX switches to responding with Lunaris. These models will not always work, but it can be fun or interesting to play with this huge variety of possible responses. There are also some models that should work well specifically in Japanese (although we haven't tested this) including EZO, Swallow, Himeyuri and Karakuri. If you are a more advanced user, and understand something about different LLMs, you might want to explore this area. For beginners, these models probably won't offer anything better than sticking with Lunaris, or Llama 70b.

Fixed long standing issue that allowed for duplicate text/audio pairs (you would see, or hear, some part of the conversation twice).

Fixed issue where when AI responses started with "(" or "*", and a narrator voice was selected, then the narrator voice would also continue and read other parts of the sentence. This would cause speech to be heard from some invisible global audio source, instead of appropriately coming out of the Female's mouth.

Fixed issue where having "*" in the initial dialog or elsewhere in the personality could stop the AI Chat from working (at all) when using that personality.

Fixed issue where audio was played stating the password was wrong (on first open of AI Chat in vamX), even if you had the correct password entered.

Fixed issue where some (bad?) mice would send additional mouse down commands when released. This caused speech to not be recognized in desktop mode (you would hold the right mouse button down, speak, then release it, but the AI wouldn't respond).

The default Narrator option is now "Remove Would-be-Narrated". That means if the AI outputs something like "Hi Jack (she smiles and waves). What's up?" then the description is removed so she would simply say "Hi Jack. What's up?". This makes the conversation feel more natural. If you want a more rich AI generated story (and less of a conversation) choose a narrator voice to hear her say "Hi Jack" and the invisible narrator voice would say "she smiles and waves", etc.

Added the ability to choose personality sets. Added the ability to choose the US or EU server.

You can now choose other people in the scene to talk by changing the Speak As drop down in the Web UI. Change the drop down to Male or Threesome to quickly change who is speaking without reloading the Chat AI.

The narrator voice now works, allowing you to have text marked in () spoken in another voice. For example if the AI writes: "I'd love to (Jenny pulls you closer)" you will hear the primary female voice say "I'd love to" and then a narrator, as if someone is reading the story, will say "Jenny pulls you closer".

You can also choose to set the main voice as a Narrator, so the AI isn't one of the people in the scene, but a sort of Narrator / God Voice / Other Viewer of the Scene.

AI Chat now has improved compatibility with VaM Moan and other plugins that control head audio. vamX AI Chat now prioritizes it's own audio over externally playing head audio, so that VaM Moan can be set to play a continuous breathing sound, or moan, which no longer stops the AI Chat from playing speech. There is also a button in the Custom UI to disable VaM Moan and Life.
