Dear everyone,
We cannot stress out how much we enjoy anything RPG related. Maybe it's a silly way to start a long post, but we're going to be honest with you. In the early months of 2020, we lost our jobs due to COVID and, naturally, started looking for the next ones. Finding a job in our county was a quest itself, and this damn virus upped the difficulty to virtually impossible.
Drawing maps for the sessions was something we enjoyed doing for our players. Having discovered Patreon and some titans of the industry, we decided to give it a shot. Making your passion your job is a slippery slope in many cases, and we decided to dose the work, so we could still enjoy it. It was like – a few hours of work, some rest, exercise, TV and games.
No way.
It's time consuming. It's difficult. It's a challenge. Ask any creator out there. Creating something with your own fingers out thin air, armed only with the graphic tablet and imagination, is somewhat like a drug. There are obstacles like burnouts, unexpected comments, not hitting the desired audience and likes – and only you and your fragile ego stands between potential success and time "wasted".
Then you keep drawing. Hours melt into days. Mondays suddenly don't exist anymore. Weekdays have no names anymore. Working your passion is amazing when you actually start to love your passion again. We're not speaking for everyone, just pouring our perspective out.
Then you find your way to the right channels. You connect with the people with same passion, people who were/are in your shoes. You never stop learning. You collaborate with other artists. You shiver over social media posts. You take a leap of faith and turn the passion into a full-time job.
Don't get us wrong – we absolutely love what we do.
Then you realize that everything you do couldn't be done without the community. Every subscription, every like, dislike, comment and release is the community. You realize you are an important part of it. And you need to give something back.
Dear friends, we would like to give you the first 5 months of our work, completely and permanently free. We are sure you will find some of the maps useful and enjoy them in your games as much as we enjoyed making them. Times are hard and better tomorrow is just around the corner. Until then, lose yourself in the best game ever. We hope these maps will aid you.
This wouldn't be possible without people who were and are with us on our journey – our patrons. Thank you endlessly and wholeheartedly.
Stay safe & love from
Mikey and Wewa
