Manwhore vs Femboy (Test scene)

This is a scene from the first episode of the Pleasure Island Tournament Arc series I have been posting about recently. At the moment it's 9 episodes, and this scene represents about 1/6 or 1/7 of episode 1.

My original idea when making this was to make it in greyscale with very limited animation, something between an animatic and a comic.

But after drawing most of it I found it kinda dull to watch and decided to colour it.

The idea was to make an action scene as fast as I could with limited animation and see if it comes out watchable:

- Action on 4s (1 drawing per 4 frames where ordinarily I would use a mix of 1s and 2s)

- Characters drawn simply in action scenes, no highlights, shading, coloured pupils etc.

- Background are all vectors (as opposed to painted which looks better but takes longer)

- Avoid character animation up close

- Fernando only has body hair in closeups.

If I made this at my usual level of detail it definitely would have taken longer, but this still took me around 2 weeks to make, so I'm not sure if the experiment was successful or not.

I think if I was going to commit to it though I would paint elements of the background that are re-used a lot like these mountains and palm trees and clouds.

My issue is that even working at a simpler level it would still take me well over a year to make the series. I'm unsure if I have the mental strength to make such a large project, or if I can afford to. I will gauge how people react to this short and decide later.
