The day after my experience at the gym, Mari confronted me at the office.
βYou left your gym bag at the apartment this morning,β She told me.
βI donβt think Iβm going to go anymore,β I replied.
βWhatβs wrong?β
βNothing!β
βI can tell somethingβs up! This is the first day youβre not going to gym in weeks, itβs also the first day youβre wearing something actually professional to the office instead of a sweatshirt, and your posture is just defensive. Something is up.β
I knew she was right. I was really starting to feel like the woman I was. My feelings after looking at guys in the gym, the way I was dressing, even down to my feelings about myself.
Mari didnβt wait for me to answer. βMy advice?β She said, βI get that the gym was sort of my thing that you embraced...for good reason! But you need to connect with the things that YOU enjoyed. You may have MY body, but please remember to live YOUR life!β
