Oops!

There was a major bug in the latest build, which I didn't notice because I was testing the game in the editor, and apparently the build version in Unity functions a little differently!

The issue was that the main menu was bright pink and rendering different in each eye. After fixing this I also noticed the shadows were lower res than they should be, and the LODs on the trees and bushes were screwed up too. All this appears to have been caused by installing the VRC SDK at one point to import the avatars without losing the Dynamic Bone settings. I guess it just decides to go into all your project settings without asking and changes them all!

The menu issue seems to have been caused by it removing a ton of hidden shaders, including the gui shaders, from a list of special shaders that should be included by default. And the shadows being low res was caused by it messing with the shadow cascades, and setting the shadow distance to an absurdly large number.

I also realized I'd forgotten to set the breathing sounds for the female dragons correctly, so I fixed that too while I was at it!

Anyway, it's all fixed now, and I've updated the link to the build in the original post here:

Ok, I'll wait for the next build.

I read today that there's an issue with recent Nividia drivers where people are getting black screens at times in some games. It's possible this is related, but no way to know for sure. Aside from rolling back drivers, the only other suggestion I have is to wait for the next build and see if that resolves it. And try rebooting if you have not done so recently. SteamVR can get stuck in bad states sometimes.

After multiple attempts, I found out that the game starts in VR mode. By making the sound louder, you can hear the sounds of the environment. But the game window is black. Different launch options still do not bring any results. In the desktop version, everything works without problems.

So what you're saying is you can start the game in Desktop mode, which it does automatically when SteamVR is disabled and it can no longer detect a headset, but VR mode doesn't work at all, and all you get is a black screen. I'm not sure what's going on, but there's a new build coming in March. Perhaps it will resolve the issue for you.

I use meta quest 3. Without VR, everything starts fine. When I want to start the game in VR mode, I start steam, then steam VR, and then no matter how I tried to start the game, nothing worked. From the desktop, from the steam library, in the helmet through steam VR, it doesn't matter. It just shows my desktop with a black game window. As soon as I close steam VR, the game starts again. I have a laptop with an Intel Core i9-11900H, RTX 3060 mobile and 16 GB of RAM.

I don't know. I've never seen anyone with that issue before, and I don't know what could be causing it. When you say everything works, do you mean it works as a desktop game? Or do you mean it works IN VR when SteamVR isn't already running when you launch the game? Because I could see the latter happening maybe. I have issues with running the game in VR on my own PC if I have SteamVR running and I try to launch the game in Unity to test it. Though I can't say I've ever had an issue with a standalone build having issues running if SteamVR is already running. You should be able to launch it from within the headset in VR. That's what I do. What headset are you using? I only have an Index to test with, though I haven't had any reports of problems with other headsets. Not like you're describing anyway.

What am I doing wrong? I downloaded the game, added it to steam, launched steam vr and I have a black screen. When I launch the game without steam vr, everything works.

do you have a discord

chipperonie

No, there's no public builds yet.

Furotic

Hey I found you through twitter and could not find any external downloads of the game other than here on patreon. Do you have a public build?

If you have a Quest, you need to tether to a PC. Even the Quest 3's processor isn't capable of rendering environments and characters this detailed, nor could it do the physics calculations required to collide with the deforming meshes in real time, which in layman's terms means, you wouldn't be able to shrink and walk on their bodies or go inside the orifices. That's expensive to calculate. The collision mesh has to be updated every few frames. Perhaps if the game were more successful I could make a separate heavily stripped down version for Quest, but right now that's not realistic.

Hey sorry I'm messaging this here can't dm on Twitter or patron but is there anyway to play this game on quest without a pc would love to support you guys and play but don't have a pc and I can't find anything about thanks.
