Bronchitis Necklace - BGC

Another item from The Medicine Cabinet. Throughout history, people have worn amulets in an effort to ward off disease. Even after Germ Theory became widespread, the appeal of these objects remained strong. In the 1920s, English folklorist Edward Lovett went around 26 districts in London, asking street vendors what they would recommend to help protect a child against bronchitis. Everywhere he went, he was offered a necklace like this and marked it on a map. The color of the necklace varied and sometimes the beads would be multi-colored, but most often they were green or blue. The particular necklace I'm using as a reference came from the Upper Holloway district in 1914.

The necklaces were meant to be worn under clothing, but that doesn't matter for Sims. The idea was that the longer you kept it on, the better protected you would be. Many people wore their necklace from birth until death. That's why I have made versions for each age group, and for masculine and feminine frames.

Feel free to tag me if you use them, I'd love to see! My TOU are here.
