Y’all gonna react to that joey project?

Love that “Live” beat it made me Laugh a bit from the feeling of being reminiscent of ‘80’s sitcom theme songs sample.

Nah, Nah, Nah…

You guys are so right about how even in the confusion, there is just an emotion that kinda just blasts through most of Earls songs. And that kinda informs me about how the song feels for me.

Hey guys! Did this remind you of Some Rap Songs? The feeling I got is that this is sort of like a sister album to that with the production, length, and fragmented-ness (for lack of a better word). The difference is Earl sounds a lot clearer, happier, and forward-thinking here. Whereas on SRS he sounds mired in his past and his depression.

Need this fr, for a vibesesh at least. “Nothing to see here” one of the best beats of the year

Brandon K

I dunno if you guys caught this in Infatuation but when he says "Tonight we dining where? Tell Leonidas I know somewhere with finer fares." That is a reference to the movie 300 where Leonidas tells the Spartans "Tonight we dine in hell." And that theme carries over at the end of the song too.

Matt Tims

Lol! We gotta help each other bro. Enjoying the process though

Appreciate this comment! Definitely hear how he utilizes aphorisms as a base; then all the other concepts he mixes in (enjambment/stream of consciousness, parataxis, symbolism, etc.) takes it to another level and makes it truly unique. 1 of 1 fr!

Been waiting on this one. Hoping you guys can catch some of what he’s saying for me lol

I finally pinpointed Earl's rap style. Earl raps in Aphorisms. But the old philosophical form of it. Here is the modern definition: Aphorisms are a pithy observation that contains a general truth, such as “if it ain't broke, don't fix it.”. Earl speaks in the old Philosophical meaning of Aphorisms, which was a distinct literary form from ancient Greece that took its full form in the Renaissance. The etymology of the word Aphorism means to find reason. Here are the 4 characteristics of an Aphorisms that occur together and you'll find it matches Earl perfectly 1. Brief 2. Isolated 3. Witty 4. Philosophical in nature The intent is to make a witty universal truth that takes a moment of reflection to fully understand. Here is an example: "There's nothing so consistent with reason as the denial of reason." Or "the wisest people are wise in insignificant things, but they are hardly ever wise in the thing that means the most to them" Aphorisms as used by philosophers of those times had the mindset if you get what I'm saying, good, if you don't then you don't. Which again, fits Earl perfectly If you want an in-depth video of what Aphorisms are, you can check this video out. It's also pretty great for improving your own pen https://youtu.be/pvoTeTHYqy0?si=tVvVnywB5AZuj0BU
