Hold The Chase w/VIBEVILLA Episode 27: Organic Raps

In this episode Prince and Darae discuss: Drake using a LeBron and Nike scenario as an example for the situation between he and UMG, Liangelo Ball's new hit song, Lupe Fiasco's potential merging of AI and Art, and more!

Note: We're still ironing out some details with the visual version of the pod. Hope to have that all sorted soon.

AI is happening. We can either have representation in it or we can not. I'm not gullible enough to take it at face value, but according to Lupe the range will be short and it sounds like he wants to site the source out in nature. To get people to drive out to these places, chill in their car and listen to AI Lupe. That's fucking cool. People are just hearing AI and puckering their buttholes. But this has been one of the few applications of this new technology that actually seems like it could be beneficial, if not just a neat idea.

The Chris Blake Griffith thing is messy. From what I can tell he raps and styles celebrities (urban wear). A male celebrity tried some thing with him and sent two dudes to off him allegedly to cover it up. CBG didn't call the cops but made a rap exposing the celebrity and it sounds like he wanted Drake to post it. And Drake wasn't bout it. There's a little back context. Again its messy.

The AI Lupe stuff is horrible "the songs will never repeat" it's generative ai, everything is just repeated from whatever media was used to train it People like art because they like seeing the artist's thoughts/opinions/feelings on whatever they are making their art about All ai can ever do is emulate something original but it can never make something truly original There's no soul to any ai creations, ai music can only ever be created to please consumers, none of the words can ever have any meaning because they are just words put into an order that an algorithm decides is similar to what it's been told to emulate The absolute best outcome for this would be it being terrible and no one ever tries to recreate it because if it's sonically good, it's the first step towards a terrible era for music and art
