2024-09-10 02:17:58 +0000 UTCto add, jay has played a part in choosing kendrick… but not THE part. roc nation throws a few names in a hat, the NFL (and other parties) narrows it down and then the HOST CITY chooses who gets to do the halftime show. people are acting like it’s a cardinal sin to not have wayne do it. he’s from new orleans, yeah… but that’s never been a prerequisite. not to mention, he’s not as good as a performer as kendrick, despite him being the legend he is. i can’t wait for the show. also, i expect the album before the grammy deadline (which is around late october).

This whole ride has been wild as hell and there is so much drama involved, it would be an amazing doc series on HBO. I truly NEED this to happen so my friends and family can finally experience what it has been like to watch this unfold.

To me, this is less a performance and more of a coronation of Kendrick from "just" a rapper to an entity, a powerhouse, a mogul. The West Coast has been talking all summer about all the stuff they have in the works, but I guess no one has been listening? It's so strange how people keep underestimating him and I think that's a big part of the reason Drake lost the beef so hard.
