We feel like although we had an appreciation for the music, in some ways the "beef" and allegations overshadowed some of the more artistic aspects of the angles and music (not even saying that was necessarily wrong. It was a beef, and the allegations were serious), but we thought we'd revisit, with the artistry as the priority.

2024-05-08 19:58:12 +0000 UTCI think there's definitely two different aspects to the beef. The artistry: Kendrick clearly has the better pen. When it comes to lyrics and cadences, Drake isn't touching that. Euphoria and Not Like Us are two top tier tracks, if we are just talking sonically I believe Kendrick wins. The allegations: Now it gets messy. If Kendrick's allegations are true, the he won the beef outright. But if he's making false allegations? And if Drake's allegations turn out to be true? Does Kendrick win if he has better music, even if it's full of lies and he's hitting women? What if they're both lying... The nature of the allegations involved makes it difficult to even discuss. But maybe that's the point. In any case, I doubt we ever find out. So if the beef is over, what could have been a good exhibition in the game has a really sour aftertaste. It's left me feeling like Kendrick is the better artist, with the caveat that unanswered questions will linger whenever listening to Drake and Kendrick

Every other reactor is simply saying “kdot won no discussion” but I think kdot was intentionally making it clear in each diss track that his artistry is miles ahead of Drake. So he wasn’t just dissing Drake through lyrics but as as an multifaceted artist that Drake couldn’t respond to
