Black Thought to me is just without a doubt the best to ever do it. He has never missed, has never had a subpar verse, he has multiple classics and he continues to push himself and show us other sides of him 30 years into his career. Sure, there’s something to be said about guys like André, Nas, Hov, Ghostface or DOOM who have also been excellent for a long time but I could list a lot of arguments for Thought over them. The simplest one: He‘s just the best at rapping. Every verse of his is immaculate and there’s nobody who could word the themes he tackles as beautifully as he does. This is his most personal project ever (he said it himself) and it’s just crazy that we can hear somebody of his caliber open up more and show us his human side after all of this time. And I didn’t even expect much from this album cause the announcement was such a surprise to me. But of course I ended up loving it on first listen. "The Weather“ is the best song to drop this year (and the best verse) and it‘ll be hard for anyone to top it imo. We should celebrate Thought as much as we can because I‘m not sure we‘ll see anyone rap at his level ever again.

That issue should be fixed now, thanks for pointing it out. & yeah this is definitely one of the stand outs of the year so far, and no doubt it'll hold up. Catching so much more on 2nd listen as well

Btw, it seems to have cut short, video stops at 37:05 for me, even though the timestamps show your final thoughts coming at 37:30? Absolutely love the reaction though, made me enjoy the album a lot more and have it finally click for me, this is probably gonna be one of the best albums of the year.

I agree with you about after listening to a Black Thought album I can't listen to anything else for a bit. Nothing else seems as important until I can decompress from the genius level of Thought.

Can’t wait to watch this one - also if y’all never heard “Process” - Sampha I’d definitely recommend checking it out. He’s just hinted at a new project coming 6 years after his debut album and it’s gonna be an exciting one fr
