Chapter 15: Holmgang

Asgard - Thor/Sif House

CLING

Naruto suppressed a chuckle as Lady Sif, her expression sour, forcefully set a plate of breakfast down in front of him, nearly shattering it with her strength. She then took a seat across the kitchen table, giving him a piercing look.

"Thanks for the meal," Naruto said playfully as he enjoyed the stew, bread, and fruit. Normally, it would be unwise to accept food from someone who openly despised you, but Odin had instructed Sif to let him stay at her house while he conducted his investigation. With no other option, he was taken to her home and given her son's room to sleep in, which only served to aggravate her further.

It appears that Asgardians adhere to the same principles as mortal Vikings, including the practice of granting 'guest rights.' This is a deeply rooted tradition of honor and hospitality, where guests are treated with politeness and respect. Mortals engage in this practice under the belief that visitors might be divine, whereas Asgardians observe it as a code of conduct that has evolved to facilitate negotiations with adversaries in order to establish peace. By inviting them into their homes, guest rights ensure the safety of these visitors.

"While I'm here as a guest, Sif can't harm me and has to offer me the same food she gives her family," Naruto thought, looking into Sif's eyes while he ate. After noticing that her annoyed looks didn't seem to bother him, Sif finally relented and started eating too.

As Naruto enjoyed the unexpectedly tasty stew, he reflected, "Thor mentioned that the room I'm staying in belonged to Modi. It's astonishing that he doesn't seem to harbor any resentment towards me for taking the lives of his sons and even permitted me to rest in one of their bedrooms."

Thor had left earlier that morning, leaving Naruto alone with Sif and their daughter Thrud. Thrud was seated at the table, glancing back and forth between her mother and Naruto, clearly anticipating a potential fight, which was a reasonable expectation considering the situation.

Thrud is an eighteen-year-old woman with long ginger hair featuring a crimson streak on the right side. Her eyes are blue; while she may not be as striking as her mother, which can be attributed to her father being Thor, she is by no means unattractive. Sif, her mother, is exceptionally beautiful for an Asgardian, boasting long blonde hair, blue eyes, and a curvy figure, whereas Thrud has a more muscular build that leans less toward conventional femininity.

"Are you planning to give me the evil eye for the entire time I'm around?" Naruto questioned Sif bluntly. He wasn't bothered by her attitude as long as she didn't try anything funny; that way, he wouldn't have to resort to kicking her ass or getting rid of her. "I mean, your face must be getting pretty worn out from all that glaring."

"You have quite the audacity to speak to me in that manner, Greek," Lady Sif said through clenched teeth, while Thrud watched with concern as a conflict appeared inevitable. "If it weren't for your guest rights, I would have already severed your head."

"Mom, please relax," Thrud said, attempting to soothe her mother before she violated guest rights and risked being thrown into the dungeon in Asgard, home to the most notorious criminals of the nine realms. "Odin will be furious if you break guest rights, and so will Dad."

Sif retorted, "Odin and Thor can go to Hel," but her expression softened when she noticed her daughter recoil at her harsh tone. "I've finished my meal; I need to take care of some chores."

Lady Sif stood up and exited the room, leaving Naruto and Thrud in an uncomfortable silence. Naruto found himself entertained by the way she had handled the situation with both her actions and her words.

"Looks like things aren't as perfect as they seem," Naruto mused. He could tell that Sif truly meant what she said, and her fury stemmed from more than just her understandable grief over her sons' deaths. There was a deeper issue at play, involving Odin and Thor. "Perhaps I should investigate that while I'm in the here."

"Hey," Thrud called out to Naruto, pulling him from his thoughts. She noticed him staring off into space and asked, "Did you actually kill Modi and Magni?"

"Most likely," Naruto said nonchalantly, "but I can't recall actually doing it. Still, it's not out of the question, particularly if they were near one of my temples with bad intentions."

Thrud regarded Naruto with a puzzled expression, as if trying to determine whether he was joking or being sincere. She considered the possibility that even if he were to take down hundreds, he would still recall defeating Modi, the Norse god of Courage and Wrath, while Magni, Thor's favored son, is the god of Strength and Brutality.

Thrud got up abruptly and left the room making Naruto think he might had offered her but she came back minutes later with a picture and handed it to the Greek god.

"The figure on the left is Modi, and the one on the right is Magni," Thrud explained as she handed Naruto the picture, created by the finest artist in Asgard. "You might recognize them if you see a portrait of them," she proposed.

Naruto stared at a photo of two unattractive men—one with short hair and the other sporting ginger hair and a beard. Both were quite muscular, and Naruto noted that their physical traits clearly came from Thor. He then glanced at Thrud, feeling grateful that her mother had passed on some attractive genes; otherwise, he couldn't help but cringe at the thought of what an unattractive woman she might have become, picturing Thor in a dress.

Thrud felt an inexplicable desire to strike Naruto, and the way he looked at her with a mix of fear and distaste only intensified that feeling. However, when he redirected his attention to the picture, it was as if a light bulb had turned on in his mind.

Thrud noticed the expression on his face and asked, "Do you recall them now?" Lady Sif, who was waiting outside the room, was also eager to hear Naruto's response. The Greek God began to speak and recounted his experiences with Modi and Magni.

Flashback Scene Ahead

The air was thick with the scent of sandalwood, and the faint, coppery tang of recent sacrifice. Naruto’s temple, nestled in a hidden, sun-dappled grove on the mortal plane, was a place of quiet, potent energy—a blend of wild nature and the controlled discipline of war.

He wasn’t physically there in his mortal temple, but he was in a council meeting about some crap Zeus thought necessary with his paranoid mind. Naruto chuckled at the fact that the poor bastard didn't know his wife Hera was his now in all the ways that matter; her body, which includes her fertile womb, was his along with her mind and soul.

Naruto consciousness snapped back he feel a presence enter his sanctuary. The peaceful quiet was shattered by a crude, jarring laughter and the sound of heavy boots crunching the gravel paths.

“Well, look at this, Modi,” a loud, booming voice—Magni’s—rumbled through the sanctuary. “A little Greek boy’s clubhouse. Where are the men? Only pretty, fearful things?”

Naruto heard this from his place on Olympus, his face twisted in a scowl as his blood instantly went cold, then boiled.

He materialized instantly at the entrance of the main inner courtyard. Two massive, ginger-bearded figures stood amidst his upset Shrine Maidens. The women, normally serene and disciplined, were clustered together, their eyes wide with fear and distress. One of the maidens, a young woman named Lyra who tended the sacred olive tree, was on the ground, clutching her arm where a rough hand had clearly knocked her aside.

The two Asgardians—Magni, the god of Strength, and Modi, the god of Wrath—were grinning wide, arrogant, and drunk on their own power and maybe some mortal wine. They were here for trouble, not worship.

“Identify yourselves and state your purpose,” Naruto demanded, his voice dropping to a low, dangerous growl that seemed to vibrate the very stones of the temple. The air grew instantly heavy.

Modi, ever the hothead, sneered and puffed out his massive chest. “We are the sons of Thor, you pathetic Greek. We heard whispers of a god here, one who dares to claim domains like war and victory. We’re here to teach you where the real strength lies.”

Magni punctuated the statement by casually kicking over a small stone pedestal holding a beautifully crafted bronze owl, the symbol of strategy. It shattered on the ground.

Naruto’s control snapped. This wasn't about a boundary dispute; it was about an aggressive, unwarranted invasion and the intentional terrorizing of his protected followers. The fear in Lyra's eyes was the final straw.

“You desecrate my sanctuary and harm my people,” Naruto stated, his voice now devoid of any emotion, which was far more terrifying than a shout. He took one step forward, and the ground around him split slightly, vines with razor-sharp thorns erupting from the cracks. “For your crimes, your lives are forfeited.”

Modi laughed, a short, barking sound. “What’s he gonna do, Magni? Grow us a flower?” He raised his enchanted mace, the head crackling with stored power. “Come on, boy. Let’s see your great Greek War-God strength!”

The attack was clumsy, powerful, and utterly predictable. Modi swung his mace in a wide arc, aiming to flatten the smaller god.

Naruto didn’t move. He became a blur of elemental force. The god of Time saw the slow-motion arc of the mace, the subtle shift of Modi’s weight, the exact moment his guard would be lowest.

He side-stepped the blow with impossible speed, ducking under the whistling weapon. As he moved, his hand shot out, not in a punch, but in a focused surge of divine energy—a concentrated essence of Nature’s overwhelming force.

CRACK!

The energy blast struck Modi directly in the solar plexus. Modi’s eyes bulged, his breath expelled in a rattling gasp as he was hurled backward into a stone wall. The impact fractured the wall and sent him slumping to the ground, his body collapsing in a posture that was both broken and unnaturally still. The God of Wrath was permanently silenced by a single move.

Magni, momentarily stunned by his brother's swift defeat, roared in a blind rage that was pure brutality. “You little coward! DIE!”

Magni charged, relying on his brute Strength, his mind clouded by arrogance. Naruto met the charge not with strength, but with a strategy that turned Magni’s own power against him.

A field of pure, intoxicating Lust and Love energy, a blinding, disorienting wave of desire, erupted from Naruto. It wasn’t meant to corrupt, but to confuse. Magni stumbled, his focus breaking as his mind was momentarily flooded with conflicting, intense sensory overload.

In that split second, Naruto completed his final move. He plunged his hand—now sheathed in shimmering, radiant Victory-essence—into Magni's chest.

He didn’t need to reach for the heart. His true purpose was to sever the connection to the powerful godly magic that gave Magni his phenomenal strength, to instantly annihilate his life-force and divine tether.

Magni screamed. The sound was raw, agonizing, and cut short. His massive body immediately went limp, collapsing face-first into the gravel path.

Naruto stood over the two massive bodies, his face serene but stern. The storm cloud dissipated, the gentle sunlight returned, and the silence that followed was absolute, broken only by the whimpering of the Maidens.

He looked down at the lifeless forms of the sons of Thor, his eyes cold. “This is what happens when arrogance replaces respect. You crossed a line,” he declared to their unresponsive forms.

Naruto turned to his Shrine Maidens. “Cleanse the courtyard. They will be returned to Asgard as a warning. The grove is safe now.”

With a flash of brilliant, golden light, the corpses of the two fallen gods of Asgard were gone, sent back to their realm—dead, defeated, and a clear message sent to any other aggressive pantheon: Naruto’s domains were not to be trifled with.

After completing his task, Naruto dedicated the remainder of the day to healing his shine maidens. This resulted in an overwhelming celebration of passion, where stunning women—ranging from former mortals to demi-goddesses—succumbed to their desires as the God repeatedly bestowed upon them his powerful essence.

Flashback Scene End

"Oh, I freaking remember those morons now!" Naruto snapped, his expression darkening. He had no clue that Sif was right outside the door, ready to come in, but he couldn't help but vent. "Those two jerks barged into my temple and hurt some of my shine maidens!"

Thrud's eyes widened as Naruto recounted his fight with Magni and Modi. He portrayed the encounter as if he had effortlessly triumphed over them. She found it believable when he mentioned her brothers assaulting his temple, as it was typical behavior for them. However, the idea that they could be defeated so easily was a difficult notion for her to accept.

Magni outmatched Thor in sheer strength, while Modi was also a formidable fighter in his own right. Hearing them referred to as weak ignited Sif's anger, prompting her to storm into the room with rage in her eyes. Despite not having given birth to Modi and Magni, she had raised them and considered them her sons.

"You not only took the lives of my sons, but you also desecrate their memories, you monster," Lady Sif glared furiously at Naruto as he stood up. Both of them exchanged fierce looks, with Naruto recalling the actions of Sif's stepsons and Sif filled with rage over the disrespect Naruto showed towards her deceased sons. "I challenge you to a Holmgang."

Thrud gasped upon hearing this, realizing that a Holmgang is a duel meant to resolve disputes between individuals. However, since Naruto was granted guest rights, challenging him to a duel, especially one to the death, violated those rights. As a result, regardless of the outcome, her mother would face serious repercussions.

"You can't go through with this, Mom; it contradicts..." Thrud began to speak, but Naruto interrupted him with a soothing tone.

"Alright, I accept your challenge," Naruto said with a grin. "I just hope you're more of a challenge than your sons were."

Naruto's words had the intended impact; Sif's expression shifted from anger to a deadly rage, while Thrud stood in shock, realizing she could do nothing to intervene in the ongoing duel.

Fast Forward

Sif gazed at Naruto with shocked eyes, lying defeated on the ground, her armor destroyed and her body battered. Nearby, Thrud watched in disbelief, her own eyes wide; she had never witnessed her mother being defeated so effortlessly, not even by her father, Thor.

"Submit," Naruto commanded as he placed his foot on Lady Sif's neck. She glared back defiantly, but the Greek God applied more pressure, causing her to struggle for breath. After releasing some of the force, he asked once more, "Do you submit?"

"Never," Sif answered, though her voice trembled with anguish. The pain from the beating she endured was overwhelming; she was aware of multiple broken bones and could even feel a rib pressing against her lungs. Yet, she refused to submit to anyone. "Just kill me and end this, you monster."

Thrud stood by, preparing to assist her mother despite knowing that victory was unlikely. She couldn’t just stand by and watch her mother face death without trying to help.

"Very well," Naruto stated decisively, extending his hand towards Lady Sif. Thrud launched herself at Naruto with a war cry, her body crackling with lightning, but he swiftly caught her with his free hand, wrapping it around her neck and rendering her powerless. "This isn't your battle, girl," the Greek God remarked without glancing at Thrud.

"Leave her be!" Sif shouted in fury and desperation. "She’s not involved in this!" The goddess of beauty protested, but Naruto paid no attention to her. He lifted her off the ground by what was left of her armor while holding Thrud in his other hand.

Both women fought hard but were unable to escape. Lady Sif was overwhelmed with sorrow, realizing she couldn't shield her daughter and that she was to blame for their predicament. If only she had adhered to the customs of hospitality and allowed her sons to fall as valiant warriors.

"Please, leave my daughter out of this," Sif pleaded. "Direct your anger at me instead and let her be."

Thrud attempted to voice her objections, but Naruto's grip around her neck silenced her. He was lifting her off the ground effortlessly, demonstrating his remarkable strength.

Lady Sif shut her eyes, unwilling to witness her daughter's demise. She silently cursed Naruto, as well as Odin and Thor for introducing him into her life, and held herself accountable for igniting this conflict. She braced for agony, yet it never arrived.

"There you go, you're as good as new now," Naruto remarked as he let go of Thrud and Lady Sif. The two women looked puzzled, but Sif soon realized she felt no pain anymore—her armor was also back to its original condition. Thrud observed that her throat was no longer sore or marked from Naruto's firm grasp. "That was fun, but I need to get started on my investigation. I'll return later."

Naruto turned and walked away, leaving Lady Sif and her daughter feeling puzzled and oddly intrigued as they observed him depart. It wasn't long before Thrud broke the silence.

"Mom, what just happened?" Thrud inquired, bewildered. She had encountered some wild Asgardians before, but Naruto appeared to be on a whole different level, not to mention incredibly powerful. The way he lifted her effortlessly like she was a defenseless child instilled a sense of fear in her, along with an unfamiliar sensation that combined both attraction and something beyond that.

"I can't say, my dear," Sif responded, her shoulders dropping in defeat as she accepted the consequences of her actions, even after violating guest rights in a fit of justified anger.

Lady Sif pressed her thighs together, feeling a rush of desire. The last time she experienced such arousal was when Thor triumphed and won her over, but now he had let himself go, becoming a shadow of the man she once adored, replaced by Odin's enforcer.

"Hmm," Lady Sif mused, considering that Naruto was powerful—perhaps even more so than Thor and possibly Odin. He had killed her stepsons, which meant in a way he owned her sons. "Perhaps I’ve been approaching this incorrectly."

"Achoo, it seems someone is discussing me," Naruto remarked, having sneezed continuously since departing from Sif and her daughter's home. Unbeknownst to him, by defeating the two Asgardian goddesses, he had inadvertently piqued their curiosity. Now, he was on the verge of forging new and intriguing connections between the Greek and Asgardian pantheons.
