Shane is a way better person than the Govenor but hes still not a good person. And. Merle and the Govenor would beat shane in a fight.

yes shane absolutelly did do that. however, the motivations behind both of these near SAs are vastly different. and when shane realized he was going too far he stopped. (still an attempted rapist i've been calling him that since they started reacting) but i dont think hes as heartless as the governor. the governor knew he was committing sexual violence, and he was doing it to intimidate someone. shane was a drunken violent mess. both bad, but governor's intention was to sexually abuse. while shane was FOOLISHLY misunderstanding boundaries.

Shane might not have been as bad as Governor but he was bad so people are justified in not liking Shane as well

Facts! He’s an angel compared to the comics!

Still with the Shane love. Smh. Shane was not a good man. He wouldn't care about saving Glenn or Maggie. All he cared about was Lori.. And by proxy.. Carl. He wouldnt risk his or anyone else going to save Glenn. That's the difference between him and Rick. Rick protects his WHOLE family the best he can. The entire group. And Rick at his core is a genuinely decent man. The Governor certainly isn't.. And neither was Shane. Ignoring his sexual assault of Lori.. that she had to hit him to get him to stop.. Should have been a "throw him in the bin" moment. I was happy when Rick killed him.

The governor is a much worse rapist creep in the comic book. We got the nice version in the show.

I met the guy that played the Governer at a walking dead convention over 10 years ago! He was actually very sweet 🤣

To me, when Carl suggested Sophia as a name but then quickly realized as he went down the list how many people they’ve lost… I don’t think he wants to be reminded of that when he looks at Judith. Maybe his teacher just has positive, warm memories of normalcy and pre-apocalypse time for him.

as a staunch shane hater, i think philip is much much worse. genuinely by far.

It amazes me how you complain about other people's opinion. If you don't like it then don't watch it. It's pretty simple.

“Very different”… I don’t think Shane and Governor are the exact same, but Shane literally tried to sexually assault Lori and Governor did something similar to Maggie. But because it’s Shane you guys never fully acknowledged it. He was literally forcing his hand up Lori’s dress.

The Governor is just like Shane except further gone. It amazes me how you completely disregard all Shanes transgressions, especially attempting to rape Lori, but are disgusted by the governors actions on Maggie. Where is your consistency and moral compass, I just don't understand it?
Shane is arguably worse than the governor because he did all this just at the beginning to his best friend and his wife. I haven't enjoyed a reaction so much than when Rick killed Shane. I thought that might be the end of it but you still try to crowbar him into every episode. He's dead.

Shane just lost his way but he wasn't inherently evil. There's definitely no comparison between Shane and The Governor. What he did to Maggie was despicable. Also, this was when I realized that the show is about the survivors and the people they meet. Who can they trust and who are the bad guys.

The governor is such a good villain, in the sense of how much he is easy to hate. Definitely top of the hate list.

I forgot how difficult/disgusting that Glenn/Maggie scene was. It's infuriating to watch. I would have loved to have seen Shane beat the crap out of Phillip and Merle like he did with Ed.
I hate the Governor, but also think he's one of the most believable villains on the show. He may have had narcissistic traits pre-apocalypse, but seemed to be "normal." The apocalypse unleashed a sadistic madness in him.
Had Maggie been thinking clearly, she could've said a larger number, but her guard went completely down to protect Glenn.

I truly forgot how heinous the scene with Maggie was (trauma blocking?) but it came rushing back real quick! Phillip is a sadistic sociopath for sure.

The Governer is narcissistic through and through.. all that charm and smoothness, extremely hateable in his inner character. And Andrea's so dumb man.. she can't see that or simply doesn't want to because she wants what's "familiar" and "comfortable " over the world she already knows she's living in that's gone to shit.
Took a lot for Glenn to hold out on not exposing where the group was despite the beatings. I know Maggie finally did out of her love for Glenn, which I get.
He didn't break at all. Props to him 👏
