Full Length Reaction Guide
We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync. Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen. Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0. Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:
Use a dual monitor PC setup to watch both screens simultaneously

2025-09-23 23:13:05 +0000 UTCI admire how balanced you are in your review, because even though Achilles is an epic character to watch in battle, and like you said a demi-God among men with the ego to match, he's such a sulky, petty, selfish child to me, especially in comparison to Hector, not that I mind it, I think it fits the movie, but didn't like him nor 'connect' to him. Even though he was not serving Agamemnon, he still participated to this war, just like a mercenary. I loved his music theme though. I also liked Odysseus, there are only a few characters with a brain in this movie. The biggest change for the music that I can remember in the extended version was during the fight between Hector and Achilles, and also at the end when the Greeks sack the city. Also the guy who wrote the script of Troy is one of the main creators of Game of Thrones, David Benioff.

It's probably my no. 1 pet peeve with reactors. How they immediately jump out of the movie to discuss the actor and whatever role they knew him from. Or worse, when they spent the next five minutes vocally trying remember where they've seen the actor instead of being immersed into the movie. It has ruined many an important scene for me. You two are great.

2025-09-18 22:26:09 +0000 UTCFrom after the discussion, I think why Achilles stands out to so many people is because despite him being near-mythic and godlike in war, he was shown to be deeply human and he went down just as easy as anyone else. It's also kind of ironic that someone like Paris would be the one to kill Achilles .

So the idea is that when the body of the greatest warrior Achilles was found, with an arrow singularly lodged in his heel, people concluded that the arrow must have felled him and that the heel was his weakness. So the mythology built from that observation. The movie is attempting to show how a myth can be built from mundane occurrences (random arrow in the heel of a guy that was already mortally wounded) and false interpretation.

So I was put in Troy. It wasn't painful, but I realized that the way that movie was being told was not how I wanted it to be. I made my own mistakes in it. What am I trying to say about Troy? I could not get out of the middle of the frame. It was driving me crazy. I'd become spoiled working with David Fincher. It's no slight on Wolfgang Petersen. Das Boot is one of the all-time great films. But somewhere in it, Troy became a commercial kind of thing. Every shot was like, 'Here's the hero!' There was no mystery."

At best, some historians think that the story of the Trojan War may have been inspired by a real war (possible) and that Troy may have actually existed but there is no consensus or evidence. This movie is an attempt to establish a faux-historical basis for the Trojan War myth. But there is no real history to know.
