DCR Just Got Smarter! New Multipliers for Trailer Type & Load Ratios! (ATS)
Added 2025-05-20 17:36:42 +0000 UTCPrepare for an even deeper dive into realism with the latest update to our Dynamic Cargo Rates (DCR v1.2) feature! We're thrilled to announce the integration of sophisticated new multipliers that will make your trucking experience in American Truck Simulator more strategic and dynamic than ever before.

🔥 New Player? What is Dynamic Cargo Rates (DCR)? 🔥
For our new members and those just discovering the mod, Dynamic Cargo Rates is a new, core feature of the GDC Logistics Economy Mod (Both Classic and Hardcore Editions) designed to bring a living, breathing economy to ATS. Instead of fixed prices, cargo rates now fluctuate based on real-world factors.
Seasonal Influence: DCR primarily adjusts cargo rates based on the real-life day of the year. This means agricultural goods will pay more during harvest seasons, and heating fuels might see higher rates in winter, mirroring actual supply and demand.
Realistic Economy: The goal is to create a more immersive and strategic hauling experience, where understanding market dynamics and timing your deliveries can significantly impact your profitability.

What's New (for everyone!)
We're expanding the DCR system significantly by factoring in crucial real-world logistics:
🚛 Trailer Type Influence: Your choice of trailer now directly impacts your earning potential! We've implemented new multipliers for:
Dry Van
Reefer (Refrigerated)
Open Deck/Flatbed
Different trailer types come with different costs and efficiencies, and our system now reflects that in the rates you'll see. Hauling a specialized load on an Open Deck will feel distinct from a standard Dry Van run.
📊 Load to Truck Ratios (Demand & Capacity Simulation): This is a game-changer for simulating market dynamics! Cargo rates will now also react to the real world "load to truck ratio" for each trailer type. This ratio reflects how many loads are available compared to how many trucks are seeking them.
High Ratio (More Loads than Trucks): Expect higher rates as demand outstrips capacity!
Low Ratio (More Trucks than Loads): Rates will decrease as carriers compete for scarce freight.
This means the market's current supply and demand for specific trailer types will directly influence your profitability.

Current Load to Truck Ratio Values (As of May 20, 2025)
To help you strategize, here are the current national average load-to-truck ratios that influence rates, along with the thresholds that define different market conditions for each trailer type. As a note, you can consider "Capacity" as available trucks, and "Demand" as available cargo:
Dry Van:
Current National Average: 4.48 loads per truck
Market Conditions:
0 to 1 loads per truck (Very Low Demand/High Capacity)
1.1 to 2.5 loads per truck (Low Demand)
2.6 to 5.4 loads per truck (Moderate Demand)
5.5+ loads per truck (High Demand/Low Capacity)
Reefer:
Current National Average: 8.29 loads per truck
Market Conditions:
0 to 2.2 loads per truck (Very Low Demand/High Capacity)
2.3 to 5.5 loads per truck (Low Demand)
5.6 to 11.9 loads per truck (Moderate Demand)
12+ loads per truck (High Demand/Low Capacity)
Open Deck/Flatbed:
Current National Average: 35.28 loads per truck
Market Conditions:
0 to 3.3 loads per truck (Very Low Demand/High Capacity)
3.4 to 8.2 loads per truck (Low Demand)
8.3 to 17.9 loads per truck (Moderate Demand)
18+ loads per truck (High Demand/Low Capacity)
These ratios will dynamically change in-game, so keep an eye on job market fluctuations!

Why This Matters for Your Hauls:
This update introduces a profound new layer of strategic decision-making. You'll not only consider what cargo is in season, but also:
Which trailer type offers the best return for the current market conditions.
When to specialize in a certain trailer if its demand-to-capacity ratio is high.
These changes may not be as easily noticed at first glance, but as the seasons shift and market conditions evolve, the Dynamic Cargo Rates feature will make its presence more known for players, rewarding those who understand and adapt to the ever-changing economy.
Thank you for your incredible support on Patreon! It allows us to continue developing these complex systems to bring unparalleled realism to the GDC Logistics Economy Mod. We can't wait for you to experience this next evolution of DCR! A guide for DCR is available in the mod description on the steam workshop page, but can be directly downloaded via Google Drive.
Happy Trucking!

2025-05-24 16:17:51 +0000 UTCYes; quick jobs, freight market and cargo market jobs utilize DCR.

2025-05-24 12:27:44 +0000 UTCDoes it also affect the earnings from quick jobs with the various trailers, or even if you use the "power-only" system? I'd like to keep driving different things and not be tied to just one type of trailer and its loads. Thanks for all your work on these awesome mods.
