Skantish Monthly Build 7 + General Update

Sorry for the late posting of this build, I know I normally have these ready earlier in the day. This month's work has been light, since moving house took a lot more time than I anticipated and I wasn't able to work on Skantish as much as I thought I'd be able to. Thus, I'm foregoing the devlog for this month since there's not that much to talk about, and I won't be doing an art poll either, so I can dedicate more time to the game.
I did manage to get the next shopkeeper into the game, as well as itemize the Sunken Chasm with new weapons and armor. I also wrote out the story cutscenes for the area, as well as designed the other side characters who will appear.

I'm not struggling with motivation as much as it's just difficult trying to juggle so many moving parts of game development, not to mention IRL stuff and other responsibilities as an artist. The motivational problems with Skantish mostly stem from writer's block that crops up any time I create any sort of sexual project, since it's hard to weave a coherent narrative and it's themes together with sex. The effort seems to pay off, as a big compliment toward Skantish so far has been people praising it for moving away from non-consensual content most h-games are known for (since game stories and scenes are far easier to write when you throw consent out the window) Any game that I'd "want to make" over Skantish would likely drop sex entirely as it presents too many hurdles that muddy the rest of development and honestly doesn't add much for the types of games I make.

If you are struggling with motivation is take the time to appreciate what has come before, maybe play games like Castlevania or Shovel Knight (again, if you have played them before). This game has phenomenal potential, and I wish to see it to the same completion as Tailbound.
