Cameron Winter - Heavy Metal & 'Singles' - First Listen

Yep, why wait?

Borderline obsessed at this point.

I don't know where this kid and his friends spawned in from but this is a very unusual and rare level of talent and artistry.

In the words of Logan Roy himself, I FUCKING LOVE IT.

Enjoy, and please do write your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.

I love reading them.

That email notification spoiled one of the best moments on the album! Such unfortunate timing πŸ˜‚ What a record man, it was definitely one that was a bit of a Trojan horse for me, at least initially. I was hearing all the hype about it not long after it came out and it took me a while to get around to listening to it. I decided to throw it on while I had headphones on and doing housework. Boy, oh boy. There were just so many moments that would stop me in my tracks. Chord choices or melodies that would tie knots in my chest. Love Takes Miles is probably going to be the song of the decade for me, it’s a piece of music that feels like it’s always existed. Mate, when I first heard Drinking Age, your reaction was exactly like mine, I was completely taken by it and utterly speechless. That low bass note after "wallet on the ground", I mean, fucking hell. It’s absolutely gut wrenching. Cameron’s songwriting is simply remarkable, I can’t believe he’s making music as good as this and he’s only 23. To me, Heavy Metal is a young artists expression of growing up in the modern age, and all of the growing pains he experiences, told through lyrics that at face value might seem like gibberish (some are just that don’t get me wrong haha) are in fact wonderfully poetic and profound, just expressed through truly surreal metaphors and similes. The way he talks about relationship struggles, anxiety, death, yearning, self comparison, and so many other human experiences in ways that you may not understand fully, but you FEEL it. So glad you loved it, it only gets better with every listen. Also shoutout to Rayman Origins goddamn W right there!
