2024-07-25 00:53:50 +0000 UTCThis single reminded me that i should listen to this more as I don't listen to the album enough even though it was my album of the year last year. It also got me thinking all sorts of things especially I got back to reading cause of this album and gave me a good recommendation of J. L Seagull. Recommend if you haven't seen his tiny desk performance where he was promoting the Lahai album. Sampha and the band were amazing on that set👏 think his band are also credited to this single as well and have been touring with him as well which is awesome to see.

2024-07-24 19:37:18 +0000 UTCMy Father passed away in January. Our musical taste didn't always overlap, but through his love of Jazz and mine of Soul/ R&B, we found common ground. Lahai was the last album that I shared with him. He loved Jonathan L Seagull, and the night he passed and listened to it again, in his memory. That song, and the album will always remind me of those last few lovely months I had with him, even though he was terminally ill.
