hello CRC remote members,

club president Jaime here, with another members-only newsletter.

i’m sorry this one is probably going to be a little bit shorter, i’m actually running a bit late for a pizza date (and i know Darius is feeling a little nervous so i don’t want him to think i stood him up).

so just real quick i’d like to take this opportunity to answer some questions raised in the comments, about our recent visitor from the rat dimension.

as you might have guessed, communication proved difficult with our unexpected guest, since he was totally physically unequipped to speak a human language and we were similarly incapacitated to speak rat-tish (or whatever they might call it). he did attempt to teach us his name, which i can only reproduce as the following series of sounds:

ee-EEE-sq-EE (chirp)

although the chirp is hard to pronounce, it’s apparently critical to the name, because when Luna tried say it without the chirp, the rat seemed quite embarrassed. so i can only assume that in its shortened form, it’s some kind of rat profanity.

anyway, speech actually proved unnecessary, since Mr. ee-EEE-sq-EE (chirp) could both read and write in perfect english. that was how he read the address label on the drone, and eventually how we communicated some basic information between us.

his handwriting was scratchy but legible, once he practiced using a human pencil (he seemed unfamiliar with it so i guess they use something different in the rat dimension).

of course i can only speculate as to how and why two parallel dimensions with two different dominant species ended up evolving an identical alphabet, but my own personal theory is that it’s related somehow to the ‘reality bleed’ we experienced in Poppy Valley v1, such as when ‘the stars are falling’ phrase started appearing everywhere, even in impossible places such as fallen leaves on the ground.

my guess is that as the Poppy Valley v1 reality started to collapse, reality ‘folded’ and started stamping impressions of itself on itself, so that something that would happen later in the timeline became represented earlier and vice versa.

if i’m right this would indicate that parallel dimensions can be similarly folded together and may occasionally leave impressions on one another, or to put it another way ‘bleed’ onto each other--in this case, via the latin alphabet.

whether that alphabet originated here or in the rat dimension or evolved simultaneously in both is of course impossible to say at this moment, however i will keep you posted if further investigation uncovers more answers.
