April 20th, 2021 - Progress Update

Hey everyone! Halftilt here, wanted to give everyone another progress update (and a Happy 4/20 ^^).

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for me, and as far as this project goes, I recently created a Discord for Darkest Dungeon adult modding/Lustiest Lair (which I hope you all join!)

As for the mod, I’ve been messing around with trying to make the pregnancies do more fun things. I’ve also got three more standalone monsters that will be coming soon (the Slaver, the Stallion and a new solo encounter for the Tentacle Monster).

While in IRL, work has been slowly picking up with everything starting to re-open and I’ve started working on an indie project with a fantastic NSFW artist. Currently, it’s in its very early stages -- I’d love to go into more detail, but you likely won’t hear anything more about this project until an initial version is ready.

So, onto Darkest Dungeon...

You can expect I’ll continue working on this project for the majority of my time, though we have to show patience on the art creation side of things, which does affect how often I release new content for this mod -- personally, at a minimum, I aim for a major release at a minimum of every 5 months, with early content being released here in between these major releases.

My next major addition will include an overhaul of the pregnancies... so onto the deets!

Pregnancies

If you’ve been playing around with the Slime or Knothound pregnancies in the most recent update, you may have noticed that they now have a chance for your character to do things in combat -- like birthing a monster, adding lust to your party members, saying lewd things and the like. The Beastcock Lover quirk also functions similarly; it has an in-combat chance of making your ladies better at ‘subduing’ beast type monsters.

I’ll be doing this for each vanilla monster, and they’ll have their own unique pregnancy depending on the type of creature. Let’s say your Lady gets in an encounter with a spider and gets impregnated during the encounter. Now, as you go on more adventures with her, she’ll have a chance of birthing eggs, which will add the ‘Spider Eggs’ item to your team’s inventory.

On the other hand, let’s say she gets impregnated by some Eldritch creature (like a tentacle monster, for example). Now, she may have a chance to give birth to a tentacle monster -- and this could appear in the form of some Eldritch Beast spawning that will want to capture and impregnate her once again -- on the other hand, it might spawn a helpful tentacle beast such as one of the many living trinket sub-types.

This is going to be an absolutely major overhaul, but it’s something that I’ve wanted to tackle since I started developing Lustiest Lair -- considering that right now a Lady could get a swine pregnancy from interacting with a totally unrelated curio, it doesn’t make a lot of sense.
