Narration Teaser - Lustiest Lair; The Cursed Witch (First Draft)
Added 2021-01-24 18:01:14 +0000 UTCI was planning on waiting until I've received the final draft of this before posting a teaser -- but I was too excited and wanted to share this immediately!
First of all, thanks to all of you in making this happen! I wouldn't be able to do this without your continued support.
With that I was able to commission a voice actress to do some lines for the lore of Lustiest Lair's custom bosses!
In the vanilla game, as you know, each boss in each region has their own story narrated by the Ancestor, which is broken up into three parts for each level of said boss. In Lustiest Lair, I'll be adding a Scholar/Professor character that will fill a similar role to the Ancestor and narrate some lore behind each custom boss added to Lustiest Lair and you're looking at the first draft of the Cursed Witch's level one entry.
This new character will have her own lore in the world that you'll uncover through play and these narration snippets (I'm aiming to have her be unique from the Ancestor, instead of just replacing him). All that I'll spoil for now is that she was is a instructor at a University from another continent which sent her to investigate the strange happenings of the Hamlet -- which will, of course, end with a terrible fate that awaits her.
This brings me to my work in Audacity! I mentioned earlier that I was messing with the audio-editing program. Well, this is one of the results of said work! I tried my best to imitate an Ancestor-like echo for her audio, while trying to make sure doesn't come across too echoey and difficult to understand. I'm also doing some minor edits for the monster sound effects unique to Lustiest Lair, which you'll be seeing as I release updates with said monster.
I also think I'll need to work on my script-writing a bit (had a hard time finding any resources which help with writing script directions -- if anyone has any suggestions or resources, I'd love to check them out), since my written text doesn't always translate well to spoken dialogue.
Let me know what you lovely people think!
