Serenity C2 Episode 4 (Devlog 3)

Hey everyone! Well, as usually happens, plans got squashed a bit this week. Full-time job was busy with people preparing to work remotely because of the hurricane. Then the hurricane came through here. Lots of power flickering and internet up/down bullshit. Although I didn't get the worst of it this time, it still wreaked havoc with the electricity everywhere and that affects all of us. The storm had passed by yesterday (Thursday) morning. Then I had to go check on Mom and make sure things were good at her place. She is on an oxygen tank, so I have to keep a close eye on her.

With all that said, we're now at around 75% of the coding completed. Still not bad considering how long it has taken me the last few releases. I've got a scene to rewrite due to some plans falling through on something I wanted to do. I may still be able to pull it off later. But as you know, Serenity is an AVN that likes to occasionally have crossovers with other AVNs. I haven't actually done that in a while (outside of Rin in LH). I wasn't able to get a character to look enough like the original due to different graphics engines and limits. I was disappointed in this because I had such a great idea for it. Future character crossovers won't be like Melody and Celeste (where they came and hung around a long time). They'll be more 'brief' scenes/events. Anyway, hopefully I can figure out a way to make it work later, so I'll keep coding and circle back to this later so as not to waste time. These kinds of events are very short and have no bearing on the plot anyway (mostly added for a bit of fun really).

This weekend, I'll be helping my brother move. He is disabled and can't do it on his own. So, I won't get back to coding until possibly Monday. <SIGH> Life sure picks its moments throw everything at me at once, I tell ya.

Oh! I do have a small bit of news that some of you may find exciting. I've promised in the past that I would do a short AVN featuring Camilla. Well, something I've kept from you guys over the last few months is that I actually have the story outlined and already have the game folder created, and script started. I do not have a release date planned at this time because I'll be working on it in very small doses for a few months. Not to mention, I have no artwork prepared yet; that will be started from scratch. Main focus of course is on Serenity and Last Human. But at times, I will add more to the Camilla VN and when I reach a point where I think I have around 2 hours of content, I'll begin to do some rendering work on that. Upper tiers ($10 and up) will be seeing some posts revealing more about how this story will work - and later, preview images. I'll probably make the first post about Camilla around the time I start rendering images for this Serenity (upcoming) release.

Don't worry, the Camilla work won't hinder my usual work on Serenity. That's all I have for this week. Have a great weekend... Love you all, ...Fire
