GENIE'D! Chapter 2 Page 2

Zara enters the office without issue...But doesn't get far before her overconfidence gets the better of her and creates one!

Panel 1

*Zara successfully makes it through the crowd of workers in the plaza outside begins her trek through the lobby of her workplace. To everyone else, Zara still appears as her former male identity Chris, and is greeted as such*

Co-worker 1: "Hey Chris, good luck on the presentation this morning!"

Co-worker 2: "Morning, Chris. Hey, what's with the headphones?"

Co-worker 3: "Good morning"

Zara (to herself): "Best idea ever, Zara! I can't hear a thing and I haven't granted any wishes!"

Panel 2

*Zara reaches the elevator to her floor without issue and hits the button. With a sigh of relief she slides the headphones off her ears*

Zara: "Finally, made it to the elevator. I'm safe for now, the presentation starts in half an hour and then the headphones go back on."

*The elevator lurches to a stop earlier than expected and the doors slide open with a DING! A cute woman quickly rushes inside before her eyes brighten with happiness*

Woman: "Oh! Hi Chris!"

Zara (to herself): "Ah crap"

Panel 3

*The woman puts her hands behind her back and smiles sweetly at Zara, still only seeing the illusion of Chris. Zara, having always been a social creature, momentarily forgets about the headphones around her slender neck*

Zara: "Hi Sarah"

Sarah: "Are you ready for your presentation?"

Zara: "Yeah, I'm a bit nervous about it. I'm trying to stay focused"

Panel 4

* The elevator doors close once more and the the cabin lurches upwards, one again in motion. Sarah giggles, a sweet sound that suddenly reminds Zara that she's not wearing her headphones. The genie-girl scrambles to put them back on before disaster strikes*

Sarah: "What? Oh Chris, you're never nervous! I'm jealous you can be so calm under pressure!"

Zara (to herself): "I've got to put my headphones back on before..."

Sarah: "I just wish I could break out of my shell..."

*Zara is a moment too late is the headphones slide back over her ears after Sarah makes her wish*

Zara:  "Granted! Darn it Sarah!"

Panel 5 SEQUENCE

*Sarah physically recoils, unaware of the fact that she's beginning to shrink*

Sarah: "Wha!? Chris, why did you yell at me!?

*The elevator cabin begins to get dramatically larger as Sarah's body rapidly reduces in size and age. Her clothes become loose and begin to envelop her*

Sarah: "Um, why did you get a lot taller!? Chris, what's happen-*"

*Sarah is completely consumed by her massively oversized shirt, which begins to form a large ovoid shape as it hardens. Soon, where Sarah stood, there is only a large, pristine white egg*

Panel 6

*Zara kneels down and cautiously touches the egg, feeling it's hard, warm surface. She feels the now familiar wave of guilt and regret wash over her, having lost another friend to her unwanted powers*

Zara: "Sarah, why couldn't you have just stayed your quiet self? Now what am I going to do with you?"

*The elevator continues it's trip upwards, carrying Zara an the egg towards the office*
