Quarantine Fairy: More Workers Like You

“Fantastic work Cathy! I knew that having you come in would pay off! Now we can move forward with the Heppert Account!” Frank said with a huge smile.

“Indeed! I’m glad that there’s at least ONE employee around here that realizes the bonuses of working in the office during all of this nonsense!” Douglas said with a chuckle.

Cathy shifted uncomfortably in her work heels and gave her boss and supervisor a nervous grin. She hadn’t WANTED to come in, and in truth she hadn’t done anything truly remarkable. She was just a secretary after all, but when faced with either coming into the office or getting let go because ‘remote work was no longer a feasible financial strategy’…Well, she was going to come in. Secretaries were far more expendable than the full blown accountants and other positions. The brunette had convinced herself that it wouldn’t be too bad, right? Mostly all by herself, plus she was vaccinated so it’s not like she was in true danger anymore, right? So Cathy had come into the office despite her misgivings and the complaints of her husband, and had spent the entire day running through the largely empty office building in these uncomfortable shoes, getting files and folders and binders and coffee and…anything else these two old geezers needed. But Frank signed her timesheets and Douglas paid her. She needed to do what they said regardless of how she actually felt.

“Umm, thanks! But, um, sirs, I don’t really think I did anything…You two worked so hard today!” Cathy said with another smile. Doug and Frank were gluttons for praise.

“NONSENSE!” Douglas boomed, his jowls jiggling and his wrinkles shaking, “We’ve gotten more work done today than we have in three years! I wish that we had two more of you here!”

“Granted!” Came a tiny voice and a tinkle of what sounded like a little bell.

“Huh? What was that?” Frank said, not realizing his voice was rising several octaves as he spoke. The two old men underwent rapid changes. Their bald and balding heads sprouted thick black hair that somehow did itself up into tight, professional looking buns that mirrored Cathy’s precisely. Their tall and fat bodies rumbled and began deflating in size and shape as aging skin was rejuvenated, taking on a healthy light tan as the white and gray hairs fell away into nothingness. Turkey necks were sucked inwards as their Adam’s Apples sank within slandering necks, and their should, slumbed but broad, became tiny and rounded. Their torsos suddenly shot outwards as twin pairs of decidedly average breasts pushed through changing fabric as their business suits became a modest work dress and skirt. Large feet curled in on themselves as their footwear, once expensive designer shoes, collapsed into a pair of department store work heels, their legs turning smooth and slim as they disappeared beneath the hem of the skirt. Both men let out a high pitched grunt as something pinched in both of their groins, and the final changes settled in place as their faces shifted and slid, turning into exact copies of Cathy! In the span of a few moments, where there had been two older executives and one young secretary, were now three identical brunette women, all staring at each other in shock before their eyes went cloudy.

“Oh hey, Cathy, can you go get the Heppert file? I need to correct something before I send it upstairs!” One of the women said as she sat down at the desk next to her.

“Okay, but Cathy, remember, the bosses need today’s check run collected before closing!” Another of the triplets said, looking at the clipboard in her tiny hands.

“I’m making copies of it right now, Cathy!” The third Cathy said as she grabbed a stack of papers and began running them through the copy machine.

The three secretaries never realized what had just happened, and all three of them possessed no memory of which one was the original, and which one had used to be Frank or Douglas. All they knew was that they had been called into work by their bosses despite the Pandemic, and that they had work to do! But one thing was for sure; their feet were KILLING them, and they all three couldn't wait to go home to their locely little house to what would undoubtedly be a VERY confused husband!
