Mucho Texto.
Writing a little about work I've put in a bit back. I'm gonna try to make it interesting, but once again it's been a bit long so I've forgotten a lot that went into making it all. I still have a few thoughts lingering about, so aye.
possibly my biggest release yet, possibly also one of the smallest.
lord knows what stars aligned for this to happen, but I'm very quite proud.
It all started off with a simple demo of a few tracks. An instrumental lasting a bit over a minute. Then I got the vocals, one chorus and two verses. From the higher ups I received a request to make a >5minute extended mix, and I had to make it a banger.
Now given I was already stumped with the projects I had on hand at the time, and the production slump I was in, where nothing I made sounded right, the fact that this song even exists is a miracle. But for it to be some of my best work? Boggles my brain.
It's overall a very simple song, with lots of repetition, and very clear progressions. It simply "goes", it won't make any eurobeat history for anyone other than me, being my first production released through *v*x, but in its simplicity I think it really captures the core VIBE that made me fall for eurobeat in the first place.
I crafted the track with quality in mind, over character. All the individual sounds I made favor sounding "good" over sounding "cool". Midway through I felt like this would make the track too generic, and too simple in the end, but by the end I realized that a lot of eurobeat tracks these days don't do that, so being in no pursuit of sounding particularly unique, when every other track seems to be, I ended up with something standout in result. I feel, anyway.
The bass is round, solid and present. The guitar is a classic IBZ through a Mesa/Boogie ampsim, The brasses don't try to be anything they're not, they're full and lush supersaws, with plenty character from gradual vibrato. Granted there miiiight be 9 layers to it...
But the main draw of the song has to be the vocals.
I don't know where they found the man, but he really is something else. The high vibrato screams hit *the* spot for me. Though I may be biased given how much I love Iron Maiden. Please do check his other song out on the album as well. I really hope MF Ghost ends up using eurobeat in the OST so this man can get the recognition he deserves.
Anyway, if you guys want to know anything specific, please let me know, I'd be happy to answer!
