Production Update - Fight Choreography Begins!

Action Choreography has officially started!

That's Yung Lee, action designer extraordinaire, with a team of stunt performers out in Toronto.

As you may have seen in our video meeting with Yung, we are looking at designing the Train Car fight scene from the first act of the movie. We are looking into the feasibility and benefits of shooting that entire sequence before the end of the year. Whether or not it is something we put up to drive people to this Patreon, use as a proof concept for investors, or simply as a way to get the ball rolling and fine tune the style and tone of this movie, we aren't quite sure yet, but there are a lot of potential benefits from working through the process for designing and shooting a full sequence.

The plan is for 4 days of fight design out in Toronto (where Yung is). We had a video call yesterday where Yung shared what they'd designed and shot, and then all three of us had a rowdy and incredibly productive notes session. We'll be doing the same for the next three days: Yung shoots and updates a rough draft of the fight, we watch and suggest notes, and so on.

Ultimately, this choreography will be the blueprint of the fight scene. And then we will move it down to Los Angeles once we build the train car set. From there, the scene will get further refined once we can actually get into the physical space.

Rest assured, we're recording these review and note sessions so that next week, we should be able to share a compressed cutdown of these choreography note meetings. You'll be able to see the fight scene progress, and what we are looking for as we push the fight scene closer to what we think the story requires, as well as what the tone of the film is.

There might be some setup but the fight itself is probably 2-3 minutes!
