Nailhouse Script(s)

Here is the complete script for Nailhouse. We have no idea what the consequences are of posting the script to the movie before we have even begun filming it. Probably gonna get a lot of unsolicited opinions and notes, which all writers LOVE! (Legally, let it be known: We are ignoring all your unsolicited opinions and notes.)

But, in order to really follow and understand all the machinations behind the scenes it is probably best to know the film. However, if you want to avoid spoilers, then don't read these.

Wait, these!? As in plural!? Thats right. We aren't just providing the script as is. Were giving you a whole collection of scripts that we think might be the most useful to understand the process going forward.

1. NAILHOUSE_FINAL_9_19.pdf

Ah. The word "final". Is there any more useless word to a screenwriter. However, this is the "final" draft of Nailhouse finished in 2019. This was already the third or fourth "final" draft. However this is pretty close to the version greenlit by YouTube back in the day and has been the script we've shared with folks for a variety of reasons, whether it be pitching, begging for money, or asking an actor to be attached to the film.

2. Nailhouse_Notes.pdf

Our note draft: This is a slightly different version of the script that has a bunch of bolded notes throughout. After deciding that Nailhouse was 100% what we were going to do after We're All Gonna Die, Will and Matt sat down and read through the final draft a couple times and then hashed out notes in the script while gulping coffee and hoofing down hoagies at a cafe.

3. Nailhouse_workingdraft.pdf

The draft that we are currently writing. We are about half-way through addressing our notes. You can see what we've changed thus far. This is also the version of script our choreographer Yung-Lee is using to begin the collaborative process of refining the action scenes and so on. So this is not the shooting draft by any means, as the action sequences will continue to evolve, either through script changes or storyboard/pre-vis changes.

Thus, expect new drafts as we continue to refine things, all the way up to the day we shoot and likely beyond!
