Bunny Toki Wip3
Added 2025-06-09 14:00:10 +0000 UTCIn Japan, there was a new GK event the other day: tonari no mokei festival. Maybe this event will grow in the future like WF!
So I'm going to continue writing about the production of Toki. This time I will write mainly about the tights and the actual skin painting.

Skin is painted after careful observation of reference material
┃Skin color density should not be misjudged.
This is the same thing I did in my last article, but keep as much reference material on hand as possible so that you do not make a mistake in the color density of the target skin.
So, here is the skin painted like this.

As always, these are the three types used on the skin.
①059+060
②C-12
③Fluorescent Red
To paint the skin in pale blue undertone, first apply ① very thinly, about the thickness of a thin layer of skin.
It is only used to give a slight orange tint to the skin.
Next, paint evenly over the entire surface, using ② as the main coat. As an accent, apply a thin coat of ③ in various places. Since the color of ③ will be applied even if it is diluted considerably, it is important to dilute it and mix it with clear as well, and then check the density with copy paper or the like.
③can be accented by using it at the edges, such as fingertips, palm joints, elbows, shoulders, etc. It will help you improve in this area as well if you check where to put the shade while looking at the PVC finished product.
Oh, by the way, it is no use writing about this kind of thing every time, so I may skip it next time.
┃Basically, mucous membrane clear is supposed to be used on mucous membrane areas.
I use Mucous membrane clear as my main skin tone because it is quite versatile, but, well, as the name suggests, it is supposed to be used on mucous membrane areas, so this is what it looks like when I use it.
It's a bust top and tongue part, but it can be painted only with mucous membrane clear.
And of course, it can be used as an ink marker on the valley part of the parts.
┃For inking, use a mixture of enamel mucous membrane clear and clear paint for easy blending.
Some people seem to finish the inking first when the parts are white, but I do it after painting the skin color. I think it doesn't make much difference which one you do first, so you can do it according to your preference.
I use enamel color for Sumi ink because it is easy to adjust.
Here are the before and after pictures of the inked area. (The color before and after is different due to the lighting, but don't worry about it.)

Applying ink with a clear mucous membrane eliminates any sense of discomfort, so although it takes a little extra effort, doing so will improve the overall finish.
How to paint tights and masking
┃How to paint tights
Paint them as if you were creating a transparent layer in Photoshop. First, paint them solid white, then paint them lightly with skin color (C-12). Next, paint over them with diluted white. This will mix the C-12 and white to create a slightly pinkish color. It is important to grasp this feeling in order to paint white tights with a transparent look.
Then, use the custom-made shade-specific ultramarine blue for shading.
You can use commercially available wind blue as is, or mix cyan, magenta, and white to make your own. Either way is fine.
This is what it looks like when the masking tape is removed.
Depending on the kit, there are cases where a stronger shade is applied to the border between the skin and the tights, but in this case, the pressure on the thighs is quite strong, so no shade is applied. The shadow falls naturally.
┃Masking should be done systematically.
Masking is necessary for the tights and high heels, but both require a gloss coat. This means that you need to apply the matte coat first before masking.
If you don't think this process through carefully, you'll end up wasting time on masking, so it's better to take a break before resuming work on parts that have both gloss and matte coats. In fact, I forgot this and ended up wasting time on masking...
Here's the result after I regrouped and did the masking properly.

The accent color of the tights and the base color of the high heels are the same, so paint them at the same time.
The high heels will be painted in the same way as the bunny suit.
Once the painting is complete, simply remove the masking tape and check the results.

I hope to continue painting the hair in the next update. It will probably take a little longer than expected because I will be painting for WF in between. Stay tuned!

For example, the photo of Bay on this page of Good Smile makes her look like a normal brown skin. https://www.goodsmile.com/ja/product/1138517/%E3%83%99%E3%82%A4 I think a dark skin with less reddish color can be done by combining, for example, clear pale brown and clear black from Luskius. In the case of Karin, a mix of orange and pink with some clear blue added might produce a similar color. Try it first with white spoons and unused resin parts!
