Chapter 203: Paranoia

Comments

Wait... Doesn't the system treat Jade as a monster? What if she can't recieve remnants because of that reason, while simultaneously being raised as a sapient/person makes her able to generate them.

Peter Smith

Either Jade has decided she doesn't need to hide any more, or she thought she could lean into the guardian/devil thing with the clones. Those are my guesses

Oskatat

What? That isn't what the chapter says at all. At no point does it say that there may be a gold core, or any person at that, contained inside the remnant.

"Whatever was protecting them, he just hoped it wasn’t merely playing with them.", excuse you, that's the Merciful Patron Saint Dragon of Endangered Floof! You heathen! SLANDER!

TFTC!

It's true, I've been a little confused about what makes an interlude and what doesn't lately.

Summer Coff

On a separate topic, what does eveyone think about the second possibility mentioned, that the remnant is housing someone who ascended to Gold core? I'm not seeing evidence of this from Jade's thoughts in the previous chapter. If one of her clones got trapped inside the sphere, that's the sort of thing she would have mentioned.

Seems like it. Something tells me the system is playing well with jades newfound divinity.

Garnet of Flame

So... System recognizes that Jade is a person, grants her a remnant, but she's also a monster, so she doesn't have an inventory system and can't accept it? Is that about right?

Summer Coff

No reasonable person would manage to come up with “time traveling red-core dragon is possessing the evil priestess’ body, has no idea what is going on, and decided to kill a gold core for the sake of it.”

Garnet of Flame

I feel like this should count as an interlude since we get no Jade POV

Andrew Hamilton

I mean to be fair, the actual truth is unbelievably ridiculous
