New from the archives; I spent the month of July (2016) in Montreal. It's been years that I wanted to visit that city. There's a great circus community in Montreal because of Cirque de Soleil. The Montreal Circus School is in the same complex and there's also TOHU, a performing arts centre. During July Montreal turns into a festival city. One festival after another. When I was there they had the Montreal Jazz Festival, followed by Festival Montréal Complètement Cirque (Montréal Circus Festival) followed by Just for Laughs Comedy Festival.
It was a fantastic period to be there. I photographed at the circus festival and I also managed to do quite a lot of personal work whilst there. I photographed 29 people for my Transfiguration project in a much bigger studio than the one I have in London.
I photographed few dancers for my project Dancers on Rooftops and I also did few smaller quick one-off collaborations like the one I'm sharing with you today.
This is Eline, a female circus student at my friend's loft studio apartment on a sunny summer day in Montreal. Just a day before I left to NYC. Montreal, Canada. July 30, 2016.
