35:55 There are no 1:1 translations of "demon" in Japanese. The closest would be akuma, which can be reasonably translated as either a demon or a devil. But Japanese mythology has a broad array of vaguely spirit-like creatures that would broadly fit the category of demon in western mythology. Oni are one of these. It's true that this particular type of demon is often called an ogre, even though ogres in western mythology are not actually demons. There are even shows which use the English term "ogre" to describe oni characters. I've never liked that translation, because aside from a vague similarity in appearance (as depicted in early drawings of each), the two have nothing in common. In Frieren, the term they use for their demons is mazoku, which could just as easily be akuma in terms of matching the western concept of a demon/devil. In Chainsaw Man, they use akuma for the "devils" we see in the translation. Long story short, there are a lot of words in Japanese that could reasonably translated as "demon" or "devil", even if they are sometimes translated differently (i.e. oni becoming ogre instead of demon, the latter being more accurate in my opinion). Without being steeped in Japanese culture, the fine distinctions between these various supernatural mythological beings are no doubt lost in translation much of the time.

As an exclamation, it's like saying you've missed your chance to get a better ending in a particular situation. The translation used in the subtitle is entirely appropriate. A translation of "oh, shit" would be appropriate if he had said "kuso" (sounds to an English speaker like ksah).
