Lelouch had Clovis at gunpoint. Geass wasnt used yet. Lelouch is a Britannian prince, no deception, and it'll make sense in a few episodes why he was thought to be dead and why he's against Britannia.

Can't wait to see the rest of your reaction and analysis towards the show. To really enjoy the show, you'll definitely need to suspend belief in some parts regarding tech and character motives (which you mentioned in Ep 1) and you'll have to forgive some gratuitous fan service. I think the first handful of times I convinced somebody to watch this show I forgot how much fan service there is, so now I stay cognizant of it... So, heads up lol
