Regarding love letters: knowing nothing about this series, love confessions in anime are often seen as a feat of courage and honesty. When one classmate confesses to another, especially if they are in different homerooms, it could be the first time they've ever spoken to one another directly. I think "a boy who confesses his love with a letter instead of in person" CAN be good. Preferential even. That said, I see how confessing face to face could be lauded as a very brave and honest thing to do.

I've always loved the style of studio Shaft the backgrounds and the way they they draw plaid on clothes, the overly detailed details in the environment like the tooth brushes and stationary.
