I think the Suzuhara episode hinted that his Eva was made from his sister. She was in treatment for a long time, then she was suddenly transferred to another hospital and then Suzuhara was announced as the pilot. You sometimes twist Kaworu name so hard so I had to google to remember it correctly 😅 Overall, when I watched End of Evangelion as a kid I took it okay, the cool action scenes and all visuals were very impressive :) Re-watching it now, I'm really disappointed that for the sake of the plot of this movie they degraded all of Shinji's development from the series 🥲 Thank you for reaction!

2025-06-06 04:23:10 +0000 UTCRunning thoughts: Three hour reaction video XD 1 - Re: your intro, I think EOE and Eva in general can be seen in two main lights, one is literal, and the other figurative. I think the series was more dedicated to the figurative and metaphorical takes, while EOE is almost an angry literalist revenge by the creator on the people who didn't understand his metaphors/vision. I can't speak with authority on that, it just feels like that to me. 2 - I feel like the way Seele's plan is just sort of told to us in a monologue is clumsy. Almost like the audience was mad at him for not giving them answers so he's just like "Fine, here they are in lecture form" 3 - Regarding "She chose to remain within the Eva" I think the idea here is that just like Shinji was almost absorbed by Eva01 in the series losing his physical form, Yui was fully absorbed and became part of it permanently, she was it's original pilot so to speak, and the other Eva mothers are similar. I assumed Asuka's mom was F'd up by Eva experiments and her "soul" ended up in Unit 2 when she self deleted. At least that's my take. 4 - You're getting the same feeling I had, that the whole thing doesn't feel satisfying at all and is almost a spiteful response to the rejection of the ending of the series.
