2026-02-20 06:12:43 +0000 UTCThere is the get swole in da soul method of escape Luna thinks about at the end of the chapter but seeing as magic is inherently funky and emotion based we should think about weird with it. I got two ideas, first the half baked one: I'm free, the cage traps everybody outside of itself. The more workable idea would be going full solipsist: The only things that are real are my mind and soul, everything else is an illusion. Which means any possible idea of my master I come up with in my mind equally valid as the external illusion. On the more normal side, does her master need to be a person? Can she be a slave to a concept, or herself? Can she be owned by a fictional person, a dead person or a collective? Can we define her master in such a vague way that it can be anyone and everyone, allowing her to do anything she wants so long as there is at least one person, somewhere that would approve? Last and most certainly least, can her master be a pet rock?

2026-02-17 15:38:17 +0000 UTCI’ve always liked this system but for how it’s a cardinal circle and the eight emotions don’t even remotely cover all the bases, nor do they feel like some of them deserve adjacency. Why is Pride a cardinal emotion? How broad is Desire? Disgust is one of the strongest driving emotions of animal behavior but it’s situated in a really weird spot and is treated more like contempt, which is completely opposite in terms of forebrain/hindbrain imperative.

Pet shop owner just lets Eliza's friends and mortal enemies hang out at his house WHILE having the tact to not say anything weird about the otter-girl. Poor Castalia. She tries to explain and struggles sooo hard.

Whatever she can do with that kind of magic would be the same as she could do if she never had a stone or been stuffed into a robot by Melpomone at the start of the story
