Usually I would try to post a new update BEFORE the end of the Month, or at least give a small update on why I wont be able to make it in time and have to push it back a bit.
The more observant among you will have noticed that I did NOT do that this time, And now that my situation has become clearer, I want to tell you why.
The Cover image already spoils it somehow, but the Gist it this:
about two weeks ago, Management at the company I work at informed us that the Situation is dire, and drastic measures must be taken to avoid insolvency. There were a lot of meetings and we all tried to justify our positions, but in the end, the IT-department which I am a part of got Axed because It doesn't IMMEDIATELY earn money...
Which means my Contract there will end at the end of September and I will be without a regular Job.
Final notice came only yesterday, and I was a bit preoccupied with the negotiations, which left me with little time for modding in these days. Sorry for that.
I do however need to stress that this is not a REAL issue for me. Sure, its annoying to get laid off for no good reason and hunting for a new job is of course an INFINITELY fun experience, but Its manageable.
Fortunately though, I don't have anyone relying on me yet, and I live a fairly frugal lifestyle, which means The support I get from you guys here on Patreon and over at Subscribestar is actually enough to sustain me for the time being.
I also have a fair amount of savings and a family to fall back on if all else fails.
But what does this mean for you? Hopefully, not too much actually.
I absolutely want to have a regular Job, simply to avoid a situation where I HAVE to pump out Skyrim content simply to pay bills. Modding started out as a hobby for me. Sure, it evolved into a neat source of income as well, but that is secondary. I want it to remain something I do for fun, and that means It will have to make sure it remains as a side gig and get a new Day job.
My standards are modest and I'm not shooting for a six-digit salary, which means it should be manageable to score a new job at a local IT-company within a reasonable time frame.
The likely effect for you is that modding will continue at an steady pace, but its possible that I will require a bit more time to myself during the next two months where my old contract is still running, but I have to do job hunting simultaneously.
And I think that covers the situation so far. Sorry again for the delays in content. Cant make any promises yet, but I don't think anyone at my old company expects me to go above and beyond during the last weeks, so I can probably get away with slacking off and dedicate some more time to new content here.
Until then, as always, thank you for your support and patience. I will keep you updated if the Situation changes.
Bob
