Solitude Events V1.4.0 - New Event, new Animations, and new gameplay Mechanics

You know, when I originally put an extension for the Solitude Events up as an option in the Last vote, I didn't really expect it to win against OBH and its planned features, but by now I feel like this thing is on the best way to become another biggie in its own right...


So, what Do we have today?

As of today, we have the fully functional capture mechanic in place. It will activate itself as soon as Solitudes vanilla opening scene has been finished (or skipped via the MCM).

Its main purpose is to fill the shackles on the solitude plaza with convicts, and it offers a lot of customization options on how it does that. The title Image above shows its MCM section.

As you might remember from the last post, the main Idea was to have the players followers be apprehended by the Guards as co-conspirators if the player is a wanted criminal. To that end, you can define the required bounty threshold, as well as the daily chance that one of them gets caught.
IF that happens, they will be brought to solitude and await Execution. They will however have a configurable grace period during which they are immune, this will give you time to make your way to Solitude and save them. You will also still get the notification letter from the courier to make you aware of the situation. 

And to avoid the Impression that player-friends are the only criminals, the system will also spawn in Generic bandits as prisoners. Can be turned off.


The Other Main addition are the Actual Scenes on the Plaza. Due to time constraints I only could make one for the Hoister (I even made multiple Brand new animations to keep it interesting). Block and Wayrest will follow in next update.
Scenes will play out every day at 11:00 as Long as valid convicts are available. It also doesn't matter If you are actually in the City. Events will play regardless. 

As of now there is no natural way for the player to get into the shackles, but if you want to try it, you can use the control button at the stairs. which also allows for a few other testing functions.

Thats what we have so far. While not fully finished, it should already provide you with a meaningfull addition to gameplay and immersion.


Whats else to expect for the next Update?

Obviously the remaining scenes for Wayrest and chopping block. While I did plan to have that ready in this update. there was a lot of trial and error involved in making scenes work reliably even if the player leaves in the middle of it or is absent entirely.
I´ve also decided to add flavor options for how the scenes play out. You can go into the "Cosmetics" Section of the MCM to toggle stuff.$

Another important addition I wanted to have is a dedicated guard in charge of overlooking the plaza. He will be the one to talk to if you want to bail out your friends. Be it by bribes or other methods. He will also be in charge of taking in new convicts, player or NPC. I´m planning to add a little internment scene here which can be triggered by an api call, thereby allowing it to be used by external mods to turn in Characters. This will obviously be used by a regular PA outcome, but could also be useful as a hook for OBH as an additional outcome there, bypassing regular jail entirely.

And while there are a few more Ideas I have for this entire mod, that's the scope I´ve planned so far. After that has been completed, its time for the next vote.

Hi again! :) I'm really LOVING your work! I'm using all of your Mods ato once but i've encountered a problem while being roasted alive. All bodyparts except the Head of my PC is turning crispy :D AND my Redguard Woman turns pale white before getting roasted ^^

Hit the button by the stairs, get shackled, wait until 11am, and hope that the player is selected for execution.
